At first I was nervous about going from the Corsair K95 to a 96% keyboard, but the layout and features on the Vanguard are actually pretty easy to adjust to even after being on a full sized keyboard for well over a decade. The muscle memory is very similar. I love the way the build feels, the entire keyboard feels very sturdy and I love how the size is close to a TKL (was kind of the selling point for me, close to full size function in the size of a TKL). The G keys placed on the side also is a very nice touch without changing the size of the keyboard like my previous K95 and the feel and sound of the keys are amazing. As for the cable routing under the keyboard I can see why people dislike it, but using the default cable I love it. The only real problem I have which I did see a lot of people have is that the iCue software is currently only web based. I previously had a bunch of profiles for different games on the K95 so I would like to do the same on the Vanguard. Once they release the support for iCue my opinion of that part will likely change. The screen on the keyboard is actually very well done and not as much of a gimmick as I thought it would be. I do like how most of the settings can be adjusted right on the keyboard via the little screen (macros & actuation point being a big one for the Hall effect keys) without having to go into software, mainly the web iCue or even the regular iCue when it eventually updates to support it.

Really nice keyboard. Its takes a bit to get used to the layout but once you do its better then a normal layout. Very good for gaming and havent had any problems with customization.

Here is the view I have of the display. Kind of useless the way I sit most of the time, and I am not a slouch. iCue support is now available. I have had no compatibility issues with my Corsair HS80 Max headphones when using the app. Some reviewers said there might be an issue. I like the feel of the keys, I am mostly using the stock configuration at the moment, just got the keyboard today so not much time to tinker. I like how in some games like Diablo 4 the game mode is automatically chosen and configured specifically for the game. The size suits me perfectly, I don't like the right shift key being so small, but I think I will get adjusted to it over time. I wish there was a better manual or at least a quick start guide that showed what the icons on the display mean, I figured out most of them but there's a couple I don't know what there for. Overall, a pretty good keyboard!

I want to share my experience so anyone thinking about buying this knows what to expect. The keyboard itself is well-built. The switches feel great, the layout is nice, and the hardware definitely has potential. But there are a few things I really wish I knew beforehand. First, iCUE Web doesn’t always detect the keyboard, and Corsair doesn’t explain this anywhere. In my case, I had to switch to a different USB port before it finally showed up. It also only works properly on Chrome or Edge — if you use Firefox, it simply won’t detect the keyboard at all. Once it does connect, the software still feels very limited. Some features don’t work the way they should, and firmware updates can be unpredictable. There’s also no easy way to roll back the firmware if something goes wrong. Second, the keycap print quality isn’t great, especially on the numpad and Print Screen area. When the RGB brightness is turned up, you can see uneven legends and slight misalignment. It doesn’t ruin the keyboard, but it does take away from the premium feeling I expected for this price. I’m keeping it because the hardware is nice, but the overall experience isn’t as smooth or polished as I hoped. If you’re considering this keyboard, just be aware that the software still has issues and might require some troubleshooting before it works properly. In summary: The keyboard is good, but the software needs more work. If you want something that works perfectly out of the box, you may want to wait for a future update.

In 50 years of computing this is unquestionably the best keyboard I have ever used. I unboxed and hooked it up and it worked great. I checked the website for software, and found that it is all web based so nothing to install on your pc. It updated the firmware 2 revisions while I watched. Something I have never had to do is calibrate every key on the keyboard. The website puts it in calibration mode, I thought it just stop working. You have to press each key one or more times, but there is visual feedback from each key. It is red if uncalibrated, press it, it turns blue then green when calibration is stored. About 5 seconds per key. Then you can modify and decide how far down it takes to activate each key, and as bonus you can designate a press and hold on any key to act as repeated presses of that key. The keyboard polling rate can be setup from the same app. There is a twist and press knob on the keyboard that allows you select the polling speed or dozen other options. The knob default is speaker volume. The feel of the keys while typing is fantastic. My previous favorite keyboard was the original IBM PC keyboard that had clicking noise with each keypress, but the net effect was that I typed faster with the IBM than any keyboard since. I have probably owned 50+ keyboards in my life and tried hundreds of others. If I had a negative comment, it would be the slightly compact size 96% of full size. I am accustomed to a standard large keyboard with the arrow keys away from the letter keys and the numeric pad farther right. If this was available in that format I would give away this keyboard and buy it. But only if it had the same hall effect keys. The wrist pad could use slightly stronger magnets for attachment but in have not noticed any ill effects so far. My scores on Battlefield 6 improved immediately. I used to come head to head with an opponent and die 90% of the time. The enhanced response has moved that heavily in my favor. If you play BF 6 don’t buy one, because I need the advantage Buy the Vanguard 96 Pro to get the Hall effect keys. I ordered the Vanguard 96 the first time and realized it came with mechanical keys and not Hall effect. I never opened the box so I cannot give you a comparison.

Honestly its such an amazing keyboard. The feel is amazing and the shorter with really makes it feel great on your lap or on the desk. The key click is soft but still clicky enough to enjoy the sounds and not so loud as to wake the dead. The travel of each key and being able to be programed at different points in the key stroke is so much fun in games like POE, Last Epoch, Minecraft and most sports and racing games also benefit greatly from it. There is one MAJOR Flaw is the cord it has a nice look. a braided cable, however the USB C port it hooks up to is under the space bar which in itself is odd but it has multiple routing groves with nubbins 5 of them which you have to press fit the cord into which ever route you want. The issue being that those nubbins aren't able to keep the cord in place it constantly falls out and I've had to Press it back in 3 or 4 times a day and it's caused the braided cable to start to fray so I decided to put some tape around it to make it a snugger fit but since the nubbins are flat on their squeeze point there's really nothing keeping it in there. IMO they should have curved them a bit even with the tape it still comes undone just as often even though its a much tighter fit. The second MAJOR flaw is the software or I mean all 3 of them, there's 3 there's two for some reason... ICUE is the normal program everyone would suspect would run it but no that feature was only added recently it use to not work at all. Instead they have the other which is just a web link where you can do all the same stuff but only for this specific keyboard. BOTH overall settings programs don't save the settings nor the .gif files, the second the keyboard losses power all the data and settings are gone. The only way to reset it is to again run ICUE again or go to the web address for it to update based on your profile however it will no-longer have the .gif files so you have to re-upload them. Over all the screen is very nice easily setup and has a lot of cool info as well but again if you power it off you have to upload everything again. Though normally annoying ,the gaming button is way more of an obstacle instead of a feature but this one is in a great location and it also turns off the useless elgoto key. For some reason they decided to replace the right control key with it and kind of messes with the functionality of the keyboard itself. Honestly I wish it wasn't there and when I do use it it crashes the program that runs it thus disabling my Stream Deck an the key. The knob is kind of stupidly designed and really annoying. The knob is honestly kind of useless other than to set it to volume as the turn features to select things are unfortunately useless as the knob spins slowly because of the knob friction and it causes issues with selecting the app or command fast enough to make it useful in games and such. Over all its a great keyboard with some crappy software but I think it would be great on a sale around $150ish. If they fix the software issues it would easily be worth the asking price but it's got too many annoying issues to be a flagship keyboard. It would be nice with some better LEDs these are pretty dull compared to something like the K70 Rapid fire I'd give it about a 3.5/5 stars or 6.5/10. I've added a few pictures of the wire where I added the tape and the routing of it. I would tape over them as well but It would likely peal off in a few weeks as the keyboard moves around.

Been a fan of Corsair for my entire gaming life. I have used the same keyboard for many years and have rebought it twice. It was time for a new keyboard and I saw this new flagship. They never seem too upset with introducing their already good products with QoL features that I both knew and didn’t know I needed. They stayed with the same high quality braided power cable that they provide multiple options for cord management. They also upgraded the key tool to make replacing keys and switches with a pencil grip making it feel like I’m not going to break something. The keys that come with the keyboard are quieter than most but still have that tactile feel. The RGB is exactly what you would expect but with an easy to use internet hub, so no need to download extra 3rd party programs. For the more extreme gamers there is even a function for key actuations to be based off certain points of the press. The keyboard is compact but still offers a NUM pad and most extras you are accustomed to. The LED screen is perfect for extra game data or just a nice picture to more personalize your experience. Overall an easy upgrade that is even better than expected and worth every bit. Highly recommend.

This is the perfect replacement for a Razer Huntsman V3 Pro. The build quality is astounding, and the keys have a similar feel to the Huntsman, but with a heavier/more-solid feel. Having a web app to configure the keyboard is a HUGE plus, since I don't install the vendor's software, and unlike the Razer Huntsman, this keyboard has onboard memory to store the profiles and lighting effects on the device. The placement of the Home/End/PgUp/PgDn/Del/Ins keys take some getting used to, but overall, this was a big upgrade over my Razer Huntsman V3 Pro. Cons: * There doesn't seem to be a setting to disable ALT+F4 or ALT+TAB in game mode. It seems to disable only the WIN key.
