I got the (2024) model, not the (2018) model, but it's ok.

You’ll most likely be getting the newer 2024 model, not the older 2018 version, so it’s worth checking other RM850x listings, you’ll find it priced more competitively there. This particular listing should be updated to avoid confusion, since the older model is no longer being produced or sold. That said, the RM850x is an excellent PSU: reliable, efficient, & quiet. It’s just not worth paying an inflated price here when you can purchase the same unit for less elsewhere.

Corsair quality per usual

Bought this to replace an old 650x corsair PS I had in my last build for the current rig. That power supply lasted nearly 11 years people! Sure it was older and not modular as that wasn't a thing - but 11 years? My system is centered around corsair from the cpu cooler, ram, fans, pc case, mouse pad and psu. Everything runs flawlessly, simple to install with a focus on aesthetics and the cable management is insane - especially with that 5000d case. 850x is more than I require, but this is also future proofing as I intend to be using this psu for a decade or so. Its fully modular, meaning you can only attach the wires you need, which eases the strain of the cable management chaos. I have 4 cables attached to power the cpu, gpu, sata sdd backups and of course all the rgb modules on the back panel). Great, quiet and modular psu backed by Corsairs legendary quality.

Great PSU that will last for years!

Update: 8/15/2021 I’ve now had this PSU for nearly 2 years and it’s performed beautifully since the day I bought it. I haven’t had any problems whatsoever. I just got this PSU a few days ago and I really like it. This is an upgrade from my Cooler Master 750W 80+ (non-bronze/gold etc.,) PSU and I’m glad I got it. The all-black cables look really nice and don’t clash with other aesthetics like ketchup & mustard cables on a lot of other lower quality PSUs do. This comes with plenty of cables and I’m not using most of them but it’s nice that they are there. I also think the little bag of zip ties they throw in is a nice touch. I actually ordered a bag of zip ties with this because I didn’t know it came with them and I didn’t even use them because Corsair had me covered. All in all this is a high quality PSU with 80+ Gold certification and 850W which is more than enough to handle almost any system build that a normal, everyday computer will need. It will definitely future proof your system as you won’t have to replace your PSU for a LONG time. Corsair also has a very nice 10 year warranty on this PSU which just goes to show how much faith they have in the quality and durability of this product.

Great performance for the price, cable management is solid!

This is an awesome power supply and I don’t regret getting this one bit. This is powering a pc with a 2700x ryzen 7, gtx 1080, among ssds and hdds. Ultra quiet and more than enough power to add a suite of electronics including leds etc. my only complaint is that they don’t include a separate 4 pin cable for the cpu2, in which you would use one of the 8 pin connectors that splits and the same issue with the pci cable that plugs into the graphics card. There’s an extra piece hanging there due to it not being used. While not a major deal, I bought this for the additional power and to clean things up. Just my $.02. My pc is used for general duties among heavy gaming and often left on for hours, this is a solid unit!

Great choice for my do it all AMD Ryzen 3600 x570 build. I run ZFS on Linux to all sizes of HD, SSD and now M2. Steam for games on an Nvidia 1660. Boot options for Win10, Fedora and Ubuntu, plus libvert and docker containers from Linux. This system is in my bedroom and far quieter than the older Dell it replaced. All fans hardly ever run, not sure if the power supply can has run more than the few seconds it does every reboot. The power supply can probably less than a minute runtime total after three months of powered on idle and active use.

So far so good after 1 month of use

I've been using a 12 year old 600W Enermax NoiseTaker without any problems, and transfer it from old system to new system builds. But recently decided to try the new Corsair RMX 2018 850W power supply. I removed the Enermax and installed the Corsair without any problems. The only issues was that I have a floppy drive and a SoundBlaster interface that both require the old style floppy power connector, and this Corsair only comes with 1, so I'll have to purchase another adapter. I like that this Corsair has one large fan, instead of the two small fans on the Enermax. And since it generates less heat, the fan only comes on when it is needed (very quiet). But I do wish there was a button that could turn the fan on a low RPM speed just for extra ventilation. So far in the month that I've been using it, I've had no issues. The first 3 weeks I've left my PC on 24x7 just so the new power supply would stay on, and see if any problems happened. Then the 4th weeks I used it as normal, turn system on and off as needed. I'm not sure if I'll save any major money on electricity using this Gold rated supply over the 12-year old Enermax. Also, the Enermax 12 years ago was about twice the price of this current Corsair unit. I just hope the Corsair lasts and is reliable.

Great PSU

I see alot of reviews saying "don't buy corsair" well i'm going to level with you. Ignore them, they probably hooked cables that didn't come with the box, or hooked something to be powered both from the mobo and psu causing it to short, or it actually came DOA, which happens. Thats not corsairs fault this stuff just happens. As for the PSU? It's literally silent. Can't hear it over my noctua fan. It was a rather painless install considering the case i was putting it in (omen 30L, yeah garbage) i have had no issues with the PSU and have had it for 4 months now (850w) sooo much better than the 500w bronze that came with this tower. Comes with a neat little cable bag to put all your spare cable s and cable ties in.
