  • Really nice solid RGB membrane keyboard
Color: Black
I have used several clicky-type so-called 'gaming' keyboards and this is a nice quiet solid entry-level keyboard. The keys are not really clicky, but soft and relatively quiet. It does state it's a membrane keyboard, so there is no expectation of a clicky sounding keyboard. The RGB lighting is nice and customizable with the iQue software downloadable from the Corsair site. There are only a few 'zones' for customizing the key lighting, not individual keys, but the effects are still striking. There are a few effects to choose from, and they can be layered and customized Pros: Construction is strong and keyboard feels nice and heavy. Rubberized feet have a nice grip even on a slick surface. Keys are quiet, but not the chiclet-type keys, so still solid feel Lighting is bright and customizable via software. You can set the 'default' lighting to be used when the software isn't running. Software isn't overly system-resource consuming. Software syncs lighting with other lighting systems such as Philips Hue and NanoLeaf. Good value for the price. Volume and lighting control on the keyboard works well and is intuitively placed. Font on keys is a bold modern font. Cons: Lighting is zone-based, so limits some effects. Keyboard stays lit even if your screen is off -- a feature I have found on other RGB keyboards. This can be annoying if you sleep in the same room and leave your PC on 24/7. Cord cannot be redirected to come out a different part of the back -- it's limited to the back left side. Overall really nice keyboard with a solid feel to the keys, but not overly loud. I would recommend to a casual passive game player or just someone who wants a nice RGB keyboard at a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Great keyboard, but not perfect
Color: Gray
I work a lot on a computer (with a lot of typing) but I only play light PC games so I never really considered getting a "good" keyboard until recently. I had one that was wireless but there was some lag and missed keystrokes here and there so I wanted to switch to wired. I am very glad I ended up with this one. Typing on this keyboard is very smooth and the keys have just the right amount of responsiveness. The keys are raised up and take a decent press- enough to give a good tactile feeling but not nearly as much as mechanical keyboards. One thing I really didn't like was that when you first plug it in the backlighting defaults to what they call "watercolor spectrum" which is where they keys scroll in waves through different colors. This was super annoying and I had to dig a little bit to figure out how to change it to a simple solid color (tip: FN + 5 or install their iCUE software on your PC). Once you get iCUE installed it is really easy to change things- you can customize the default lighting mode, the lighting mode (zone by zone) for when you are using it, and easily assign macros. Another thing I don't like- sometimes my eyes get tired of having the backlighting on and when it is either off or dim it makes the characters on the keys really tough to see, making the occasionally needed hunt and peck difficult. Overall I have to say this keyboard is very nice though, especially at a pretty low price point compared to many similar keyboards out there. ... show more

  • This feels like a really excellent keyboard.
Color: Black
I'm really loving this keyboard. The typing is soft and reactive with a nice amount of "muffled click." I finally replaced the Dell keyboard that came with my computer two or three computers ago, because this is where it's at. I've been using it for games and typing and like it in both settings. It's plug and play with a pleasantly long cord. It could use more documentation... oops, I found it on the website: on Corsair's website search for "K55 CORE RGB Gaming Keyboard" and there's a link to the manual that it needs for adjusting the speed and pattern, as well as a link for software control that should let you do more. (I just found that so I haven't played with it much yet.) My one request is that I would like for it to turn the lights off when the computer goes to sleep... but that might be a setting in the software control. Wow, all stars. I have loved how the typing just flows out of this writing this review. This is a great replacement for the standard keyboard that you started with, and a good first step toward a more "leet" rig. The lighting is great fun. The media keys are critical. The lock button... Actually, I'm not sure what that does. But I like this keyboard! ... show more

  • Gaming keyboard without clicky keys
Color: Gray
This is a great wired keyboard for every day typing and office work, and adds a little fun factor with the RGB lightning. Even though it's marketed as a "gaming" keyboard, the keys are membrane type and very quite. Contrary to real gaming keyboards, the keys are not clicky or have mechanical operation feel, which are not expected from membrane keys. I connected this to my younger son's PC, and since it already had the iCUE app installed, it was very easy to configure the RGB lighting. It has a full size keyboard with a number pad and extra dedicated buttons for a few different functions (e.g., volume control). The build quality is adequate for the price. ... show more

  • Amazing Keyboard
Color: Black
I truly love this keyboard and its something for people to get excited getting. The software and lighting behind the Corsair is perfect. The key response is wonderful there is nothing bad at all to say here. If you are looking for an upgrade this is a fantstic keyboard to do it. I did not test the spill resistance I will leave that to someone braver then I am. However given all the other specs were spot on with this keyboard I am sure that is as well. This is a must get. ... show more

  • Good keyboard!
Color: Gray
I got this for my son, and he loved it the second I connected it to his computer and it lit up. There's a button on the keyboard itself to cycle through the light modes -- no software to install. We've not tested the spill resistance, though, and don't plan on it. There's not really a lot you can do to make a keyboard special; lights and programmable hotkeys are about it. This keyboard has the former but not the latter; if it had both, I'd've given it 5 stars. ... show more
