My old pump/reservoir broke so I replaced it with this one. Easy to do, you don't need the "Commander" or whatever it's called. I'm not bothering with the lights. It easily handles my CPU, Graphics card and two 280 mm radiators. The mounting kit supplied is nice and has lots of options (mount on fan / radiator / case itself - both 120mm and 140mm supported).     • Highly recommend for new builders wanting to water cool
Easy to install, looks great and comes with a water temp. Sensor which is amazing to have! Only issue is that you have to buy the commander pro for it to actually work which is going to run you around $75. But other than that assembling it was a breeze and I’m pretty new when it comes to water cooling. Material on the white part is plastic, which isn’t too bad, but it’s definitely not Ek quality. Other than that it’s a great product and with the Icue software it’s works amazing as of right now ... show more

    • Dimensions bigger than realized, also MUST BE VERTICAL
[Purchased item: Corsair XD5 RGB Gen2 Pump/Reservoir Combo - White] Corsair does not give any information on the size of this, even in the manual. This device was quite a bit larger than I realized, I didn't use a caliper but the dimensions given by Amazon (for shipping?): 7.40 x 3.27 x 3.27 inches Are within 0.25 inches according to my measure app from my iPhone. Take note that the mount on the bottom can add additional height (to 7.4in) - you can download the PDF manual on Corsair's sales page for this item and see that the mount indeed adds to the height. In addition to this, the manual very clearly states that the orientation of this item must be 90deg VERTICAL (no tilting or horizontal placement), for the water to properly flow into the pump located at the base of the tank. Unfortunately because of my space constraint in my custom case, (also because it must be vertical), this item may not work for me. It is a beautiful item, well crafted. If I do end up using this item I will come back and update this review with pictures and will use a caliper to give exact dimensions on the item with the mount. ... show more

    • Good performance with caveats
First, I think the pump on this is pretty decent and it works well within corsair's ecosystem in terms of lighting and management. It includes a temp sensor also for the water. it's handling a cpu block + gpu block + 3 radiators (120mm, 280mm, 420mm) without an issue. It's not to bad to fill and it looks great. The only thing I dislike about this product is the plastic connections for the water hookups. Over time, I am concerned this may wear as I disconnect for coolant replacement or if the water temp went high may warp and leak. With so many radiators, it's unlikely to do the latter though. The other thing to be aware of is that it's really designed to be mounted on a fan. The included mount setup will not work with many cases that have a dedicated area for mounting a pump/res like the thermaltake p5 cases. I came up with a hack but eventually just punted and bought a new case that would work better with this pump/res. My p5 was getting old anyway and had some other issues. ... show more

The performance of this pump/Reservoir was Amazing the noise it made was little to none and the cooling was crazy I was getting low temps with NO leakage at all, it’s worth the money! Performance was great.

    • Hoops to jump through doing warranty process
My pump failed within warranty, I opted for advanced warranty, i pay for replacement until they decide on failure reason and decision. They requested the same information several times and them requested a video of the entire set up running in failure, with a detailed parts list and another explanation. Long story short, it is a shotty warranty with hoops galore to jump through. ... show more

RGB wiring at the top of the res is not moveable. If you have to mount it any way but facing out, the wires will be very visible with no way to effectively hide them. If the RGB was in the bottom of the res like it should have been, this would not be such an inconvenience. This Pump/Res Combo suffers from bad aesthetics and proprietary RGB design requiring additional parts that are sold separately. Luckily, Other less greedy companies exist and produce adapters for all of Corsair's proprietary nonsense that allows it to interface with the universal 5v RGB plug that most Mobos have today.
