Shorted on me within 4 days. I've been in a RMA battle with Corsair for almost 3 months. I've ran Corsair products for 10 years and always recommended them. I learned my lesson. Thanks corsair.

  • Inaccurate photo of available 6+2 PCI-e ports
Color: 80+ Platinum Size: 750 Watts Style: HX
Inaccurate number of modular ports in product photo. The "NO LINK Compatibility" HX750 I received is a pretty nice modular PSU, but instead of the pictured five PCI-E 6+2 connections, there are only four available. Since this section of the PSU is labeled "PCI-E 6+2 / CPU 4+4" that means you only have three connectors for PCI-E and one needed for CPU power. Granted, the included PCI-E cables double up with two ends each, but that just means you are doubling draw on one cable for two cards, probably not advisable for power-hungry multi-card setups. That's the only thing that doesn't make this 5 stars. The product is not depicted correctly on the site, and would have changed my buying decision. ... show more

  • 4 year review, fried my system
Color: 80 PLUS Platinum Size: 1000 Watts Style: HXi
Built a system using this power supply in 2016 and now believe it was the culprit in frying motherboard. Since day one it had some strange power on issues and system also would occasionally lose power, sometimes during use, sometimes not. I never knew what the problem was or how to recreate it but the instability was always concerning for this important workstation computer. Considering CPU and single GPU that I had installed, I likely didn't require more than a 500-600w power supply. I specifically remember this problem happening from the beginning because I researched the problem and thought the issue was BIOS C-states needed to be disabled. Doing this seemed to help things for a while. Jump forward 3 years and now when the computer shuts off on its own it sometimes will power back on and sometimes do nothing when the power button is pressed. Typically once it shut down I could not power it back on until the next day when it would work again. I had noticed that if I unplugged monitors/extra USB it would tend to then work again, but a few months of this and then even this trick didn't work. Eventually the computer did nothing multiple days in a row when the power button was pressed. Realizing the old CPU 2011v3 wouldn't fit in socket of most popular motherboards today 1151, I had to get a new motherboard and CPU. Well when I put it back together the computer worked but it seemed as though I went right back in time to when I first finished building it the first time with odd power on issues and not wanting to start up after Windows reset or minor BIOS change reset. It would click (with mobo lights) like it kept wanting to fire up and pause and click again and I think it would do this indefinitely but I would manually hit the power switch on the power supply to kill it. Another time pressing the power button did nothing. But again worked 20 minutes later. Also noticed that if I pressed the fan test button on the power supply (which always worked btw) and then started the system it would boot up. Recognizing similar power issues I did not want to ruin my new hardware and so purchased a new power supply hoping this would fix the problem. Since I installed the new power supply EVGA , all power issues are gone and system is stable like never before. Again, this problem was noticed to a small degree from day 1 and went on for nearly 4 years before total failure of mobo at which time the power supply was still good enough to run the new hardware (with issues). This was a hard problem to track down but feel that I have finally figured it out. It's outrageous that a power supply at this level, with only minimal demands placed on it, was unknowingly defective from the beginning and eventually ruined my system. ... show more

  • The heart and sole of your system is the PSU, make good choices... Corsair is at the top!
Color: 80 PLUS Platinum Size: 1000 Watts Style: HXi
Many folks overlook the value of the power supply unit (PSU). I cringe when I see nice expensive builds with over clocked CPU's, high end GPU's like 1070-1080tis and Vega's, lots of fans water cooling, RGB and the likes and then see a cheap no name or budget level PSU. Sure they saved a few bucks but they wonder why the overclock is not stable on the CPU or GPU or have random lock-ups and system reboots. Not all power supplies are created equal, not all power supplies can deliver their rated wattage and many even if they do can't do it cleanly with minimal ripple. I've used corsair PSU's exclusively for the past 20 years they are solid and deliver. Jon Gerow (Johnny Guru) works for Corsair as the head of QA at their power supply division. He knows what it takes to make a quality power supply and Corsair delivers! Clean, efficient and quiet and a 10 year warranty too boot! ... show more

  • 1200 watts at your service
Color: 80 PLUS Platinum Size: 1200 Watts Style: HXi
I bought the 1200 watts power supply, I dont think I need that much power, but like they say: never here is too much power, right? The depth of this power supply is larger than a standard ATX power supply. Very nice power supply, looks and feels solid. I am getting 87% efficiency, other reviewer report higher efficiency, need to investigate a little more on this. By the way, to get the Link working , and you should getting working , you get all kind of details about the power supply and your system, anyway I just ran a mini USB cable( I did not use the included cable) from inside the computer and connected to any outside USB 2.0 port, bingo! If you want to force the fan to spin, pick in group the GPU temp , play around , and you will force it to spin. UPDATE: I found why I am getting 87% efficiency. It's explained on the manual page 4. I will get 95% efficiency if the system load were 50%, since my system load is about 10% , the efficiency is 87%. Is that make sense? UPDATE 12/07/18 Extremely happy with this power supply. My HP computer came with a cheap power supply that I never trusted. I dont feel the same with this power supply. I dont care to leave the computer running for 40+ hours while a 4TB is encrypted using bitlocker, etc. I keep saying all the time that what you pay is what you get, and I know this is a cliché but is the true. UPDATE 12/16/18 Out of the blue, the Link software stopped reporting power supply status like load, temperature, etc., also when everything is good the power supply LED blinks between orange and green, in this case, it became steady orange.
