  • 1200 watts at your service 1200 watts at your service
I bought the 1200 watts power supply, I dont think I need that much power, but like they say: never here is too much power, right? The depth of this power supply is larger than a standard ATX power supply. Very nice power supply, looks and feels solid. I am getting 87% efficiency, other reviewer report higher efficiency, need to investigate a little more on this. By the way, to get the Link working , and you should getting working , you get all kind of details about the power supply and your system, anyway I just ran a mini USB cable( I did not use the included cable) from inside the computer and connected to any outside USB 2.0 port, bingo! If you want to force the fan to spin, pick in group the GPU temp , play around , and you will force it to spin. UPDATE: I found why I am getting 87% efficiency. It's explained on the manual page 4. I will get 95% efficiency if the system load were 50%, since my system load is about 10% , the efficiency is 87%. Is that make sense? UPDATE 12/07/18 Extremely happy with this power supply. My HP computer came with a cheap power supply that I never trusted. I dont feel the same with this power supply. I dont care to leave the computer running for 40+ hours while a 4TB is encrypted using bitlocker, etc. I keep saying all the time that what you pay is what you get, and I know this is a cliché but is the true. UPDATE 12/16/18 Out of the blue, the Link software stopped reporting power supply status like load, temperature, etc., also when everything is good the power supply LED blinks between orange and green, in this case, it became steady orange. Order a replacement, shipped and delivered fast and quick, just as Amazon knows how to it. ... show more

  • Just a heads up for those looking at their first Modular PSU
Note to everyone thinking about buying a fully modular or partial modular PSU: When you buy a PSU from a brand, the power cords are NOT interchangeable between brands. So when you want to switch out PSUs, if they are not from the same brand, you'll also have to switch the cords. ESPECIALLY FOR CORSAIR!!! (i.e. you can't use EVGA or Cooler Master cords with a corsair PSU) If you try, most PSUs will auto shut off the moment they send a test jolt through the wires. Once you've wired your PC with one brand, you're stuck with that brand until you rewire. And for those that love cable management, you know how FUN ( /s) that can be. Now onto the review itself. This PSU comes with some thin, but stiff cords. If you've got tight corners you might have to work on it a little to get them into place. This PSU can be setup with the fan up or down, which is nice for those of us that like to exclude the PSU from the inner airflow. As for installation, I found no problems as the cables are pretty easy to figure out, and they are all black. They are also easy to repaint if you feel like it. I should note that unless you have a corsair coolant system for the PSU or a corsair cable hub, you'll be using a usb jumper head to get the corsair link to report the PSU's status. Software wise, Corsair Link worked on the first try to detect the new PSU, it's also linked through my H100i liquid coolant system instead of using another usb header. Gives nice real time efficiency and fan speeds. Sound: this thing is silent, even WITH the fan running, and that's only under load. For a guy who sleeps in the same room as his tower, that's REALLY important to me to NOT hear a loud fan running all the time. All in all: this thing booted up nicely once I got it all hooked up. Definitely got my recommendation when I put it under full load and the thing didn't even flinch. ... show more

  • Awesome PSU. Nice monitoring. Zero DB fan is amazing.
Great PSU. Usually use seasonic but went with corsair this time. Great PSU and highly efficent. With the hybrid mode the fan barely spins up at all even in high workloads. Loveed the ability to monitor my PSU through software but the micro USB input is slightly bent and my cable will not stay put. Im using a very high powered system so I don't take chances with a PSU. The warranty is great. ... show more

  • Awesome power and software. Awesome power and software.
Love this power supply. It is a bit over kill for my gaming rig but then it does not have to work that hard. The software is great for people who like to see what their whole system is doing at any given time. The black cables are very nice. No ugly mustered and ketchup colored wire tips. The only thing i did not like is the PCIe cables to my video card (2 8 pins) have a lot of extra length and don't look that nice plugged in. I will get nice custom wires in the future. See picture for what i mean. ... show more

  • Wonderful.
This is a wonderful PSU, I don't think I ever hear it at all. Powers my PC with out any problems, running a core i7 6800k with 64gb ram with a GTX 1080 ti graphics card, I just wish the cables where nicer looking, but I believe Corsair like's to penny pinch every last dime they can get and sell everything as a extra perches, like for example, nicer cables, witch they have available. The cables are just some standard black cables. They are a little hard to bend, especially the PCI-E cable, but feel pretty good.(When I say bend, I mean at its connection point of course) This would apply to those who are trying to keep there PC clean looking with there cable management. However I guess these type of cables maybe helps with the cost of the item. The item was also boxed very nice with a bag to put all the cables you aren't using safe and stored away. 4 Stars just because I believe this wonderful PSU should of had nicer cables, it totally deserves them! ... show more

  • Rock solid power supply ...
Rock solid power supply with plenty of headroom for future expansion. The only caveat would be that the supplied flat cables don't look great, but they work fine, and can be upgraded. I also like having the ability to monitor all of the connected components from the Corsair Link software. It is very quiet and just the right size for my new X99 build. ... show more

  • Nice PSU - silent and cool.
Probably the best package PSU I have ever received, well boxed, came inside a soft cloth bag packed in formed foam in a heavy duty box. Extra bag included cables for every possible function and then some. The PSU went in nicely, very easy to get in the case (BeQuiet 900 Pro) replacing a Corsair 750W PSU that was getting old and was overheating, not installed the monitoring/control software but it seems to be whisper quiet, running in a 6-Core i7 O/C to 4.2Ghz, with Asus Strix 1080Ti. Would recommend. ... show more

  • iCue software is the WORST iCue software is the WORST
You pay a premium for "quality" product from Corsair, and I'll admit their hardware is some of the best I've ever used. So good that I built my entire computer out of Corsair producs, bought their mousepad, keyboards, mice, headset, headset stand, and headset. However, I've come to find out that this quality hardware is completely ruined by inept software engineers. You'll find it's very command that you have to go and find an old version of iCue because the newer ones are a buggy mess that doesn't even work standalone, not to mention all the incompatibility. This "gaming" hardware does not work with OBS or Streamlabs, it will make you unable to use any game/desktop audio on your stream if you want to use iCue equalizer or surround sound. I bluescreen constantly every time there is a windows or corsair update, and I've narrowed this down to the software for the Vengeance RAM in particular, plenty of IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. With iCue not open no BSODs at all. I have constant issues with the sensors on the temperatures reading inaccurate temps that cause my fans to go crazy til I restart iCue. The newest update gives me a little error that says I need to repair because I can no longer use macros or key mapping. I tried repairing, I tried clean installs, and it will never be fixed no matter what I do. I was using the keymapping for my job, and now I'm SOL til I get a different keyboard because the software decided I didn't need keymapping anymore. Can't stress enough how quality the hardware is, they did a great job on it, however, the software is unfortunately a pillar that is very necessary for the hardware to work. The software is some of the worst I've seen come from any company with the least support I've ever seen. The only advice I've seen on any forum is to A.) Reinstall or B.) Get an older version. How about C.) Fix your crap. Your components and hardware are more expensive than competitors, why can't you use that money to hire a competent engineer to make your software AT LEAST work standalone. I have 6 useless keys to the left of my hand and a lot of regret investing in Corsair, they have sorely let me down. I own the Obsidian SE case, 32g 3600mhz vengeance, H100i Platinum, HX1200i, Commander Pro, 5 rgb fans, LS100 with 6 strips, ST100, Virtuoso, ironclaw wireless, a K95 platinum XT, a MM800 RGB polaris and a K83. All of these products are physically quality. But do NOT buy them unless you're prepared for constant bluescreens, compatibility, and standalone errors. You've failed me Corsair. ... show more
