  • Enthusiast PSU...Totally Customizable
I just did my first gaming PC build from scratch, and I knew I wanted to go with a high-end Corsair PSU. I originally bought the 750w Bronze-rated semi-modular PC to fix the one in my old PC. Once I realized I needed a new build, I returned it and bought this one. What a difference! Built in fan-test button to make sure the PSU works before powering everything up. The fully-modular design allowed me to only use the power cables I needed, which REALLY helped with cable management. On top of how great and reliable it is, it's super quiet! My new tower is huge (Antec 1200 ATX Full Tower), so I won't fit IN my computer desk, so now it's on top. And honestly? I barely notice it's there, save for the blue LEDs. The case fans, as well as GPU, heatsink, and the PSU fans are all so quiet. It's great! Comes with a bunch of various cables for different connections. Even comes with a bag where you can store the extra cables you don't use. If you're looking for a gaming-ready PSU with plenty of connection options, look no further. Specs: Antec 1200 Case Corsair HX1000i 1000w PSU 32GB GSkill Rampage DDR4 RAM Intel i7-6700k Skylake Quadcore @ 4.0GHz EVGA GTX 1070 8GB GPU ... show more

  • Platinum power at an affordable price
I am using this in my gaming/streaming rig and it is amazing! This fan is one of the quietest fans I have ever used. The fan does not even have to spin up to keep the temperature under 40 degrees Celsius. I setup a custom fan curve using the iCue software and set it at 40% fan speed and the temperature stayed near room temperature. With the iCue software and the digital connection for this PSU you can monitor the performance of this power supply and never be unsure as to what exactly is happening with it. The modular connections allow you to just hook up exactly the power plugs you need and reduce clutter and confusion in the case. Overall very pleased with the performance from this powerhouse. ... show more

  • Corsair makes great power supplys
Bought this fancy HX1000i for a new water cooled PC build I was working on. The "i" designates it can plug into a USB2.0 header and offer power monitoring for hardcore overclocking. The 1000W rating for my 8086k @ 5.2GHZ and RTX2080 graphics card (overclock to be determined) but I don't mind the headroom. Amazon had a great price on it so I went for the 1000W over the 850W version. My previous PC was built with a HX750 that has been supremely reliable for the past 6 years so I have full confidence in the Corsair brand for power supplys. This is a fully modular design which allows you the absolute cleanest install and the most flexabiilty. I suppose my only "complaint" is the included cables, they are nice low-key all black cables but just not exactly what I wanted. They definitely provide plenty of cables, probably more than you will ever need, I just wish they could have included sexier individually sleeved cables at this price. Easily fixed complaint.... just have to spend a little more money of course. Corsair does offer the individually sleeved kits themselves, but I ultimately bought some from CableMod for my build. The power supply is amazing and my complaint about included cable aesthetics is obviously pretty nit-picky, so I would highly recommend Corsair power supplies to anyone shopping for their next build. ... show more

  • Fantastic Power supply.
It's quiet, stable, and feature packed. I have also purchased a Cable Mod fully sleeved replacement set of wires. The included set of wires worked fine, but the flat construction made some cable management situations a bit tricky. My only complaint is that if you intend to use Corsair link, there is an annoying LED that flashes Green/Red which wasn't ascetically pleasing in my build so i stopped using it. On that note, the included USB cable takes up a full header on the motherboard, which becomes a problem if you have a lot of devices like i do. I ended up modding the plugs so i could plug in both my H100i and my PSU into the same header so i could plug in my fan controller and Bluetooth card in the only other header on my motherboard. ... show more

  • The heart and sole of your system is the PSU, make good choices... Corsair is at the top!
Many folks overlook the value of the power supply unit (PSU). I cringe when I see nice expensive builds with over clocked CPU's, high end GPU's like 1070-1080tis and Vega's, lots of fans water cooling, RGB and the likes and then see a cheap no name or budget level PSU. Sure they saved a few bucks but they wonder why the overclock is not stable on the CPU or GPU or have random lock-ups and system reboots. Not all power supplies are created equal, not all power supplies can deliver their rated wattage and many even if they do can't do it cleanly with minimal ripple. I've used corsair PSU's exclusively for the past 20 years they are solid and deliver. Jon Gerow (Johnny Guru) works for Corsair as the head of QA at their power supply division. He knows what it takes to make a quality power supply and Corsair delivers! Clean, efficient and quiet and a 10 year warranty too boot! ... show more

  • Great Power Supply, stable voltage and quiet too.
It's still the best power supply you can get. It's very reliable and quiet. There's only two things I wish Corsair had done better. First is the cables, previous versions had nice abrasive, woven covering on the cables. This is pressed wire, an obvious cost savings but it had me yanking some older cables I had out of some derelicts because they just look better than what comes with this, especially when your case has a big plexiglass window. Next is the Corsair Link Software. It's great, don't get me wrong but it's chattier than a drunk date on prom night and like that drunk date, it drinks all your booze too. By that I mean it is chatty as far as internal networking is concerned, CPU and memory. 80MB for the tray app and the service is a bit much for what you're getting. Hopefully future versions will get optimized. ... show more

  • I LOVE it!
My first Link enabled Corsair power supply. Replaces a Corsair HW-850 power supply which is going strong still but is getting a little long in the tooth now going on 8 years. I have two systems with Corsair AX-1200 power supplies and have been impressed with the bullet proof performance. I knew I wanted another Corsair power supply. The HX-1000i is powering up a new Ryzen 1700X system that I am playing with and enjoying very much. I plan to update the dual GTX 970's to dual GTX 1070's eventually in the Ryzen system to match my 1070 based FX systems. I use SIV to control my Link enabled devices in preference to using the Corsair Link software. I have plenty of data available from the HX-1000i power supply. The power supply is Titanium rated and currently I am using it at 92% efficiency. Every bit helps with the power consumption of my distributed processing systems. ... show more

I bought the 2950x, Corsair 760T chassis, Asus Zenith Extreme, Corsair HX1000I PSU, Thermaltake Floe Riing 360, Corsair LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz C16 DDR4 DRAM Memory Kit, Black (CMK32GX4M2B3200C16), SamSung EVO 970 512G NVMe, WD 1TB Blue NVMe, Toshiba HD 6TB x3 from Amazon. Hung when ran Geekbench when it run under multi core, single core is ok. I ran mem test and it was ok. Thinking the CPU was damage during ship, I ask for replacement and got one.
