  • Inaccurate photo of available 6+2 PCI-e ports
Size: 750 Watt
Inaccurate number of modular ports in product photo. The "NO LINK Compatibility" HX750 I received is a pretty nice modular PSU, but instead of the pictured five PCI-E 6+2 connections, there are only four available. Since this section of the PSU is labeled "PCI-E 6+2 / CPU 4+4" that means you only have three connectors for PCI-E and one needed for CPU power. Granted, the included PCI-E cables double up with two ends each, but that just means you are doubling draw on one cable for two cards, probably not advisable for power-hungry multi-card setups. That's the only thing that doesn't make this 5 stars. The product is not depicted correctly on the site, and would have changed my buying decision. ... show more

  • Unit blew out after 1 day of use... so why 4/5?
Size: 1000 Watt
So I ordered this PSU for my new Ryzen 3900x, GTX 2080ti, x570 Auros, Tt Level 20 gt build. I went all out for this, and assembled it in late July. Within just about a day of use, this PSU blew out. It loudly popped in the middle of idling while I was playing with my dog. The smell could best be described, I imagine, as a skunk currently on fire. I unplugged the surge protector and ran for a fire extinguisher in an abundance of caution. The unit was indeed blown out. No idea what happened for sure, but I had a very, very expensive surge protector that I suspect did not fail at its job. Additionally, I did not drop any screws (or anything that could short it) at all while constructing the PC from scratch. Lemon's happen, and I suspect I got a lemon. Otherwise it was a freak accident. Given the reputation Corsair PSU's have. Regardless, it is clear that this unit was extremely well designed. It damaged nothing in the PC. Everything was fine. I appreciate a PSU that can fail gracefully, and have the design necessary to minimize or entirely negate the damage that might come to a motherboard etc. While I intended to get a new unit, it was out of stock and said that I'd be waiting at least 3 weeks (Note, I am talking about July when I say it was out of stock. I know it is not out of stock now). The next closest Corsair option was about 2 weeks of waiting. I ended up going to BestBuy that day and getting a second tier EVGA 1kw G1+ 80+ Gold. Running that for several months, it would seem that all my other parts are in the clear. So kudos to Corsair for designing their product to fail gracefully. ... show more

  • SOMETIMES YOU WANT TO BUILD A BEAST OF A PC THIS POWER SUPPLY LETS YOU DO IT!
Size: 1000 Watt
Yes there are power supplies with more than the 1000 watts this offers. For most this Corsair 1000 watt power supply adequately fills most needs with plenty of power to spare. I wanted to build one gaming PC that was the best of my group to use on my main system. I wanted this to use this powerful Corsiar 1000 watt power supply enabled PC with my 85 inch Sony TV. I also wanted this computer to have lots of spare power if I wanted to add video related devices that could play on my big screen. I wanted this computer to have room to grow as my computer needs grew and evolved. This 1000 watt corsair power supply gives me everything I want in a power supply. This power supply is also GOLD certified meaning its capacitors and overall build quality should be superior to those with no or lesser ratings. This Power supply is huge so I'd pick an ATX case for this monster. The cables especially the 24 pin cable were long. Mounting hardware was included. This power supply was fully modular so you connected only those cables you needed and it made cable management a breeze. At 1000 watts you might think this Corsair Power Supply's fan sounds like a beached atomic engine but nope its quiet as a mouse. The power supply has the typical down draft fan and is heavy. Never skimp on the power supply an expensive system can be ruined by a second rate garbage power supply. If you have to skimp buy fewer RGB lights or a more basic but usable case. If you need a bigger power supply buy it rather than strain a smaller power supply to its limits resulting in issues. My choice in power supply was defined by the job I needed it to perform. In this instance Corsair 1000 Watt Power Supply was my best choice one I am still happy with today! ... show more

  • Died after a year of usage
Size: 1000 Watt
Don't read into this '10-year warranty: Backed by Corsair's legendary technical support and customer service'. Unit died after a year and 3 month, try to return it, and i have to pay to ship this back. there is no 'legendary technical support'.

  • What a beast
Size: 1000 Watt
This thing is great. So far powering my Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2070 (soon hope to get a 3080) on a gigabyte x570. I like the 0rpm mode, will increase the lifespan of the fan which is generally the first thing to start to go out (or at least get loud) in a computer. Set it to single-rail as I am afraid the 3080 may trip the 40amp max safety on the pci express rails even when there isn't' any electrical issues. I'm not an expert on electrical but that's what I've heard. So, single rail it is. Replaces my HX850W. Hoping this thing lasts me another 8+ years. No issues so far, will update if any issues. If no update, assume this thing is going strong still. ... show more

  • Excellent quality!
Size: 1200 Watt
Well, I just received and installed it today, but I am happy thus far. The power supply comes with a nifty velcro tote bag for the extra cables you don't need to use. There are so many plugs on the power supply and so many cables, so you should be able to power whatever you wish with this unit. I can't speak about the fan noise, because the other fans in my system far eclipse any noise that the power supply fan would make. Sure, it would be nice to have a quiet computer, but I also like high-fps gaming and quiet fans don't cut it when you crank up the fps. All the cables and connectors are top quality Japanese-made. They all engage positively and firmly and I didn't have to force anything. The only thing to watch out for is the size of the unit. It is at least an inch longer, so you will need to make sure it will fit into your case. ... show more
