For my application, this is being used vertically from a swamp cooler pump. While it will still stop most of the moisture from getting in, I wish it had a tighter seal. I applied a small amount of silicone to seal at the top end. The remaining two are being used for outdoor appliances and are horizontal. They should keep the moisture out as long as they are positioned where water won't pool, but that's just common sense. Be sure to not attach the two halves with both seams aligned as it would allow water to get in easier.

Using ours to cover the plugs on our pool pump and extension cord. Both are the max width for this device and does take a small bit of force to close compared to no cords at all, but the seal is snug.

It works as explained, I think they should have added rubber sleeves where the wires go in. Some wires are smaller than the opening and I had to add tape to get a good waterproof seal. Other than that, it works fine.
