Features

  • REVOLUTIONARY STAGE PICKUP SYSTEM CO-DEVELOPED WITH FISHMAN: At the heart of the guitar is the revolutionary Stage Pickup System paired with a solid, fully chambered body for reduced weight and enhanced resonance, and a robust, tonal foundation. Equipped with easy-to-access Volume, EQ, and Body Blend knobs the Stage Pickup System allows players to dial in their preferred acoustic tone. Co-developed with Fishman to produce Cordoba's authentic, acoustic nylon-string tone, the Stage is revolutionary in sound and feel.
  • CORDOBA FUSION NECK: Cordobas unique Fusion Neck with a comfortable 48mm nut width and fast 16 Fretboard Radius is slightly thinner than a traditional nylon string guitar and provides a playing experience closer to that of a steel string guitar. This familiarity offers an easy transition for steel string players and players with smaller hands to the world of nylon string guitar.
  • ERGONOMIC STAGE FRIENDLY SHAPE: The stage-friendly body shape with 1.5 (40mm) body thickness, a scaled down perimeter, and meticulously carved contours provides ergonomic comfort to players of any style. The deep cutaway gives easy access to the higher frets perfect for on stage solos that surpass the 10th fret.
  • FULLY CHAMBERED MAHOGANY BODY: A solid, fully chambered body provides reduced weight, enhanced resonance, and allows the top to resonate freely for natural acoustic tone and ease of movement while playing. Strategically placed Cordoba soundhole arches aid in the vibration of the guitar and natural nylon-string tone.
  • RECYCLED NYLON SHELL GIG-BAG: The accompanying gig bag allows for ease of transportation with padded handles and straps strategically placed along the sides and front of the bag. Supporting Cordobas goal of minimizing global impact, the newly designed gig bag is built with a durable shell made from recycled nylon. This nylon fabric is a blend of post-consumer waste such as microplastics and discarded fishing nets.

  • A rare bargain.
Easy to play. Sound quality was excellent. Comfortable to hold on to. Apparently they are sold-out in most places, the demand is so high. Hooked it up to a small practice amp and was very pleased with the response and easy fingering. Pleasantly surprised.

  • It would get a 5 Star Rating but for 2 Reasons.
I wanted a hybrid guitar since I play both classical and electric. I have several classical guitars (my best classical is a José Ramírez), and I have many electric guitars (Gibson, Fender, PRS, Gretch…I play jazz, rock, fusion….) This guitar checked all the boxes. However, I only gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons. First the guitar stopped working through the amp after a few days. At first, I couldn’t figure it out why, but then I noticed that there was a 9-volt battery in the back compartment for the electronics. I decided to test it, thinking it couldn’t be that, because they would never send a new guitar with a dead battery. Guess what. Yes, the battery was dead. I took my battery out of my Taylor (it had been in there for years and it was still charged). The battery worked. My next issue was related to the sound. I was struggling to get a good sound out of the guitar through the amp. I wanted a clear crisp sound across all strings to play my classical guitar pieces. I ran it through various amps, adjusting the tone, trying to get the right sound. The high strings were not clear and muddled by the bass strings which screeched loudly. I worked at adjusting the tone trying to get it right. In the meantime, I had ordered my typical strings: D'Addario Guitar Strings - Pro-Arte Classical Guitar Strings - EJ45LP. They arrived this morning and I put them on. voila! The guitar sings. It has a fantastic sound. It now deserves a 5-star rating. I can’t believe that they provided such poor strings on this guitar. I can’t believe they sent it with a dead battery. It makes no sense to me. With new strings and a new battery, I highly recommend the guitar, provided it is what you are looking for. It has a body of an electric, and a neck that is thinner than a wide neck classical guitar. Of course, it has nylon strings but put a better set on it. It is easy to play. You can put a guitar strap on it, so you don’t need to sit to play it with a foot stool. For me, I am happy to add it to my collection of guitars. I believe I will be playing it mostly when I want to play classical, thus giving my José Ramírez a rest (sorry purists). Update: The battery mystery is solved. The battery runs down if you leave the guitar cord plugged into the guitar. You must unplug the guitar cord whenever you are done playing or the battery will run down. ... show more

Great guitar beautiful to look at and to play Beautiful to look at and to o play Beautiful both to look at and to play

  • The guitar is no good for acoustic performance at all.
The guitar when amplified has great trebble sound however the bases are completely unacceptable. Even with amplified adjustments I could not get it to produce a decent sound. Suspect maybe that pickup is damaged or something else. The guitar arrived with scratches in the area of the E high string as someone would have played it with a pick those causing multiple scratches. ... show more

  • love this guitar
Much more playable than my old handmade Cordoba. the sound is excellent assuming you have a quality acoustic amp. Without the am its like a silent guitar you can still play but it requires an acoustic amp

  • Good looking electric classical guitar with caveats
The quality of workmanship on the Cordoba Stage guitar we received was superb. If you're just going on appearance, this is one beautiful looking instrument. But if you're used to the sound of a traditional classical guitar or even a Takamine Acoustic Electric classical guitar, the Cordoba may sound a bit lacking to your ears. Unplugged it has very little resonance, despite the chambered body. Once you plug it in, the guitar can certainly sound loud. Tonally it was not so pleasing, especially in forte passages. We used 3 different amps and experimented with lots of tone and volume tweaks. But our test guitar kept having a boomy quality in the bass and a thin, biting sound in the treble. Strummed chords tended to sound muddy and distorted. Using the blend control to balance the Piezo with the internal mics helped somewhat to roll off annoying trebly highs but then we encountered booming bass. We also switched out the 9 volt battery with a brand new one, but that didn't help. For comparison we also tested out a Takamine GC5CE-NAT Acoustic Electric Classical Guitar. In contrast to the Cordoba the Takamine had an excellent natural sound when plugged in with only minor tweaks to EQ and volume. The Takamine was the clear winner. Beauty is in the ear of the listener. Everyone has different expectations. This guitar may work for you, depending upon what you are going for in tone. For us we had to send this guitar back. ... show more

  • So beautiful, but as you've guessed, it NEEDS to be plugged in.
I was hoping to get away with being able to play this acoustically, but no such luck, as it sounds terrible that way. Plugged in it's fantastic. Use as the manufacturer intended and you'll be very happy.
