The result is the D-X2E Rosewood. This Dreadnought sized model has a Sitka spruce top and figured rosewood pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides. New mother-of-pearl pattern inlay on the rosette and fingerboard lend a richness to the D-X2E Rosewood, making it as impressive to look at as it is to play. A Performing Artist neck, fingerboard, and bridge of select hardwood improve upon the sound transfer of this model. It is equipped with Fishman MX electronics. With a new, soft gig bag featuring headstock, bridge, and end pin protectors, a durable water-repellent exterior and foam padding, this model is ready to go anywhere. For a few days the guitar played great but around day 5 of normal play in normal conditions using stock strings in standard tuning I detected a buzz around the 14th fret on the high E string. Over the next week the neck developed every problem in the book. I'm talking about warping, fret sprout, buzzes everywhere, and the nonexistent action make the guitar unplayable as is. There is also no way to adjust the truss rod. It's Martin-proprietary. Thankfully Amazon Prime and the seller took care of the refund for me. ... show more

I like the product. Performs just like the Martin Guitar it is. I have one minor complaint. The "strap peg" was in an envelop inside of a zipper compartment in the soft-case. It took me quite a while to find it so that I could attach a strap. If fact, I found it by accident when I was looking for documentation. I would recommend that the manufacture put a note to that effect somewhere visible to the new owner. It is a fine product and I recommend it to serious guitar players. ... show more
