Description

Say hello to the Mini II EB-CE — our popular Mini travel-size guitar, but slightly bigger and with an extended 580mm (22 7/8”) scale length so it tunes perfectly to Standard E. Despite its small profile, the Mini II has a deeper body depth which creates a well-rounded tone that is close to a full-size nylon string guitar. Built with a solid spruce top and striped ebony back and sides, the Mini II EB-CE is resonant with a clear, defined tone. Another stand-out feature is its cutaway for reaching the uppermost frets with ease and a Córdoba pickup with on-board tuner so you can amplify on the go.SpecificationsBodyBody type: Small bodyCutaway: NoTop wood: SpruceBack and sides: Striped ebonyBracing pattern: FanBody finish: Satin PolyurethaneOrientation: Right handedNeckNeck shape: CNut width: 1.875" (48 mm)Fingerboard: CompositeNeck wood: MahoganyScale length: 22.87"Number of frets: 19Neck finish: Satin PolyurethaneElectronicsPickup/preamp: YesBrand: BelcatConfiguration: Undersaddle piezo Preamp EQ: 2-band Feedback filter: No Tuner: Tuner OtherHeadstock overlay: Striped ebonyTuning machines: Satin nickel with black buttonsBridge: CompositeSaddle and nut: NuBoneNumber of strings: 6Special features:Case: Sold separatelyAccessories:Country of origin: China

Style: Mini II Guitar
I really did not anticipate for this guitar to become my favorite. Over its big brother, Cordoba C12 SP, over the Breedlove, over the Alverez, etc. Wow, had this been my first guitar I'd probably have just chilled with it for a while. It's so easy to quickly grab and practice some chords, scales, etc. Has a nice tune to it for the price tag. Comes with electronics that sound great in my Acoustasonic 40, which is way more than any living quarters would need. Looks great. The frets are a little sharp which is pretty common on cheaper guitars. You can file them down pretty easily. They sell tools specifically for that. I haven't yet. Guess I get too zoned out to even think about it when playing or I've adjusted my hand without conscious of it. Don't even really notice it anymore. It's a great traveler, couch Potatoe, propped up in bed, on lunch break in the car, kind of guitar. Especially if you're just learning, has a full-size fret board. Fun little guitar to learn the essentials on. Strum or finger pick, handles it all. I probably grab this guitar 97% of the time because it's so accessible, sounds great, fun to play and it looks pretty darn good for the price tag, plus she's ready to plug and play. Built in tuner works well. Really, really, really... Hard to fault it. It's not going to give you that hard metal sound because it's nylon for one. All the better reason to pick up a cheap electric and now you have two guitars. I don't know if it's the body size on top of the nylon strings or what, but blues sound good on it. Haven't had an issue changing the open string notes or frequency, half step, whole step, D minor, etc. 440Hz or 432Hz... It's all about perspective at the end of the day and for me, I freak'n love this little guitar. ... show more

  • I really wanted to love this guitar instead got the non electric MH
Style: Mini II Guitar
I loved the feel & the wood craftsmanship of the guitar. The ebony back and sides are gorgeous. The body was thinner than I expected. Unfortunately the sound was a bit too thin for me and the first string felt higher than the other strings which made playing it a bit awkward. Hoping, that by plugging it into a fishman amp the cordoba mini would redeem itself for me - the opposite happened. The first 3 strings were fully amplified but I could barely hear the lower 3, especially the 5th & 6th strings. I tried adjusting the EQ but nothing really changed much. Sadly, I placed it back in its box and am returning it. Maybe the plain acoustic version might be better but I’m going to try out some 3/4 nylon string guitars with no electronics. I tried out cordoba protege 3/4 & 1/2 both of which sounded good but I still wanted something a bit smaller so I got the mini 2 MH. It plays much better than the cutaway did. I didn’t want to sacrifice the neck length for the cordoba 1/4. The Mini 2 MH is a great price and fits my needs. Of course the sound is not comparable to my Giuliani CL-6. The mini2 MH is great for traveling . ... show more

  • Fun Guitar, Several Impefections
Style: Mini II Guitar
There was a loose screw on the tuning peg of the low E string, the battery rattles (on all strings) unless you stick a folded up piece of paper in there, and there are several small dents / very slight scratches on the front of the guitar. I'd consider returning it, but I just put a set of $20 strings on it. ... show more

  • Fun little guitar
Style: Mini II Guitar
You get a lot for the price. It appears to be well made, has an onboard tuner that works well, adjustable neck and a cutaway. This would make a nice kids guitar for a child who perhaps had an interest in folk of classical music. Not good for hard rock or even heavy strumming. Best played finger style or with a pick in a light hand. Fun guitar to leave sitting on the couch for noodling around at night when making noise is a factor as it isn't a loud instrument by any means though it is surprisingly full sounding for its size. Tuners work fine, they are not the usual junk found on guitars in lower price ranges. I do sometimes feel the G, B and high E, strings sound a bit uke like but not terribly so. I will qualify that statement by saying I'm new to nylon strings and I am comparing it to my Little Martin and its steel strings and perhaps 20% more internal body volume so may not be fair. All my other guitars also have a crowned neck. This little guy has a dead flat neck. This not a big deal as I believe that's common on these type guitars. I mention it because I didn't think about this when I bought it and found that it does make for some adjustment especially on bar cords. For me this buy was about better learning finger style and wanting another smaller sized guitar to keep next to my EZ chair. Fun, Fun, Fun. Money well spent. ... show more

  • Awesome little guitar
Style: Mini II Guitar
I was looking for a nylon stringed instrument, that was small to use as a parlor guitar, and initially considered a Yamaha. As I currently only owned steel string guitars (electric and acoustic) I was rather lost when venturing into the nylon offerings. After reading quite a few reviews and product comparisons I stumbled upon this Cordoba Mini. Not knowing the brand at all I was a bit hesitant buying online in regard to quality since I couldn’t examine it. I took the leap of faith and was not disappointed. The build quality is excellent for a guitar in this price range. I love the feel of the neck and it is super comfortable to play. Highly recommended! ... show more
