For reference, I've been struggleing with a Yamaha Eterna EF-10 for over 30 years. The Eterna is pretty much a dreadnaught shape, and the strings sit high on the fretboard, especially at the higher frets. Granted, I could've had some work done to correct that, but I'm a lousy guitar player to begin with, so I never thought to do so, especially on a budget guitar. Enter the Martin 000-15M. Beautifly packaged, first off. All kinds of protected with premolded packaging material. Then, the guitar is packaged inside of the gig case, so there's some extra protection. The gig case is nothing to sneeze at; it's well-constructed, sturdy, and it pillows the guitar every step of the way. The guitar is a beauty. It's very understated, but the sound, oh the sound. The sound is well balanced. Some have noted it doesn't project much. Maybe that's the case on-stage (although plenty of folks buy this model for perfomances), but for a more intimate setting, I wouldn't want the volume of a larger, more combersome guitar, and sound-wise, I think this stacks up just fine. It plays like what you'd expect if you're going to spend this kind of money. It's easy to finger and still sounds precise when strumming. In the end, this is a guitar that will likely make you want to jump in (or jump BACK in) the game and do the work of progressing your skills. I get worried at times ordering something I have not tried out. I took a gamble and this guitar is great. I installed a Martin under saddle pickup in it and it works great. I also really like this guitar has a slim body but still great sound. My only little issue with my guitar is the frets in some sections seem higher than others. My fingers get stuck on raised frets. I believe I can have it sanded or filed down but now it's further cost involved. I also requested a hard case for this item and offered to pay more for the hard case but I got no response from the seller. ... show more

Absolutely beautiful guitar! I bought this for my husband to replace his previous guitar after reading every online review for recommendations about the best guitar to buy for him. This guitar is far more beautiful than any other guitar I’ve seen anywhere else - the matte finish, the color, everything detail is immaculate. It sounds beautiful of course as well. The first time he played it I was afraid I’d made a mistake because it sounded tinny but then I found out this is normal with new guitars and now the sound is probably the most beautiful guitar sound I’ve heard yet. I love the sound of the guitar, but upon playing it more and more, I found rough edges on the back of the body not what I expected from Martin I would like to receive a new guitar that is totally sanded properly. This one is not.
