Description

The C4-CE's solid African Mahogany top provides a crisp, articulate tone, combined with African mahogany back and sides for balanced volume and sustain. The construction is based upon our traditional Spanish classical guitar, with the inclusion of a soft cutaway and a slightly thinner 50mm-width neck designed for comfortable playability and easy upper-register reach. Premium design elements such as a Maple binding, Abalone rosette, and a striking Edge burst finish will help you stand out from the crowd. The Fishman Sonitone active pickup system produces a rich and natural sound when amplified, and puts the sound hole mounted controls at your fingertips - perfect for gigging and recording.

  • Great Fingerpicking Folk Nylon String Guitar
Cool looking lightweight (-4 lb) solid mahogany top 50mm nut width, cutaway and good, simple and discrete Fishman electronics. Not so much a classical guitar as a mellow fingerpickin’ blues and folk machine. Beautiful maple binding on body and neck is classy. 50mm just right as is 12th fret neck body join. 60 years of pickin with that many hi class guitars and this C4CE is perfect for my style. Bought warehouse return, required DIY humidification, set up and tweaking. Switched out tuners with nice Golden Gate Daddario soundhole tuner and added Tenor string ties. New strings always help. A great rig at low$. Satin finish is very old school Americana cool. Yamaha just bought out Cordoba and I doubt they’ll keep this model in lineup. I’m super happy. Cheap enough not to worry about and with a sweet sound and wider fingerboard space to keep the folk and blues rollin’. ... show more

  • Very nice crossover nylon string guitar
Cordoba makes a nice guitar, this all mahagony guitar is a nice guitar for the price. Its more of a crossover with a slightly thinner fingerboard. The craftsmanship is sopt on and the electroincs are sweet. This of course will not sound like a classical guitar, but the nylon strings and mahogany top give it a sweet sound. If you want to try a crossover guitar, this is a good place to start. ... show more

  • Great guitar for strumming or fingerpicking
I really love this guitar. I have had five others, mostly second-hand rescues. This guitar far exceeds any that I have ever played. You can strum chords on this nylon string guitar without them sounding buzzy or mushy. In addition, finger-picking is loud enough to project without amplification. The action was just right for me right out of the box. Barre' chords are more easily sounded than on any other guitar I have played. The appearance is IMO very pretty. I appreciate the satin finish. The real abalone detailing around the soundhole is very attractive and the African walnut is excellent. The guitar is just the right size for me. It is exceptionally light. I doubt that I will ever find a guitar I like better. ... show more

  • Buzzed too much
Returned it because if buzzed too much on the frets and I don’t really want to spend more money in hopes someone can make it right. Plus there’s the wait of having it done. Other than that it seemed well made enough. Incredibly light. I think I’d rather go to a shop and try out acoustics in the future and buy one that’s ready to play. ... show more

  • Exactly as expected.
The guitar is great right out of the box. No real setup was needed, just a quick tuning. It's really quite a beautiful guitar. By the way, if you are curious about the headstock being as dark as the burst finish, it is. The photos don't quite show that on my computer but it's a really nice finish and the headstock is darker than the photos here. The guitar doesn't project as much as a typical classical guitar but certainly enough to play without an amplifier. No problems with the pickup so far or anything like that. I'd forgotten how light classical guitars can be. A real pleasure to play. Amazon shipped the guitar box inside a bigger box. No problems with shipping. I'm very happy with the purchase. ... show more

  • Beautiful guitar
This guitar is just perfect. Light weight and beautiful, and sounds really good. I used to play classical guitar years ago, and moving abroad I had to leave my guitar behind. I never got the chance to play again and decided to buy this guitar to revive an old hobby. I was very impressed with how beautiful and nice quality it is. ... show more

  • Just Because I Got A Good Deal ??
Packaging was deplorable. Who ever" packed" that should be fired, if they work for Amazon. Cordoba guitars are fine, delicate instruments. and when being shipped should be carefully bundled up so item doesn't get damaged. Putting an unpacked, naked guitar into a empty box that would hold 2 guitars, is not only reprimandable, but absolutely rude to treat someone else's property in that way. Seller described condition of guitar "acceptable", not even close. The whole finish front and back is like someone took sandpaper to it. Scratches on the sides. I can live with the scratches, the finish is terrible. Even though I got a good deal, I'm glad I did not spend my hard earned dollars on a NEW guitar that might have been treated in the same manner ! Customers need to see this before they buy. ... show more
