  • INCREDIBLE optic!
Ok, I have been waiting to get an ACOG sight for about 6 years now. I wanted the Trijicon, but as expensive as they are, it was cost prohibitive. Then along comes a lightening deal from Amazon and all is right in the world! I have debated terribly on which scope, which reticle, and which color to get. I ended going with this one and can honestly say that I have no regrets! I am sure that if you are in the market for one of these, you are doing extensive research as well. My biggest concern was size with this one as it is much larger than the 4X Trijicon, and you lose some eye relief. I really liked the 4X, both for the magnification and the size of the scope. However, after much debate, eye relief won out and this is why I ended up with this one. I HIGHLY recommend that you take a look at these in you local shop if you can. If not, do extensive research on any and all items that you are thinking about. There is a lot of helpful information out there (as I well know from hours and hours on the computer for this one). Reticle choice is personal, but I really like the horseshoe. My second choice would be the chevron reticle. There are pros and cons to each, but in the end I really liked having the dot on target with the reference ring around it vs just putting the target at the point of the chevron. As far as color is concerned, this is again very personal. This is the first green illuminated scope that I have owned, and I have no regrets in getting this. I do feel that the red it a bit easier to see, but the green is not as 'harsh' on the eyes in my opinion. Again, to each their own, but I am happy with the green reticle on this one. Build quality is typical Trijicon and is the epitome of how a scope should be constructed. I do have to admit that the first one I received had a dark area on the ring of the reticle at the lower left corner. I lived with it for about 2 weeks, then couldn't take it anymore and had Amazon exchange it. Exchange was easy and the new one was perfect! God I love Amazon! But that is a whole other conversation. Now, I know that size is another issue that you will see comes up in your research on this item and it is quite a bit larger than the 4X Trijicon. I have to admit, this baby takes up a LOT of real estate on the rifle top and it is NOT light. That being said, it looks absolutely incredible on a weapon! I know that looks should not play a part in the decision process, and it didn't in mine, but I have to say that I think that this scope looks better on a weapon than the 4X just due to the sheer size. If you see that size and weight as a detriment, the offset of it is eye relief and ability to keep both eyes open with better targeting due to that eye relief. The .5 magnification is really quite negligible in the big picture. Not a huge advantage for the 4X, and not a huge disadvantage to the 3.5X. Do not be alarmed when yours arrives without a Pelican case as Trijicon has discontinued doing this and this ships in a cheap, thin plastic container but is well packed and protected inside. Truth be told, if the optic is going to be on a weapon, then a fancy case does no good anyway. I am very happy with this purchase and am finally glad to have this be the crown jewel on my custom AR. You will not regret this purchase! ... show more

  • If you can afford it, buy it. This scope is amazing
If you can afford it, buy it. This scope is amazing. The eye relief is not critical, the view is perfectly sharp and naturally centered on an AR flat-top. It is Unbelievable how fast you can acquire a target. No wonder the Marines put this on all of their M-16's. Pricey - yes. Well worth it. This scope is for a kill shot, not designed for punching paper with a single hole, although with a Bushmaster 450 it does put 4 in an inch at 75 yards. It is designed to acquire a target with both eyes open, in a split second your brain will switch over to the scope view (clearer) and fire at will for effect. There is no searching for the cross hairs and checking for the view being centered in the scope The illuminated recticle requires no thought or searching but is naturally right where it should be. ... show more

  • .223 same as M249 TA11H
Color: Red Style: Horseshoe/Dot 5.56 (.223 cal)
Awesome glass quality! Love the product but be advised if you purchase a .223 calibrated acog ta11h the instruction manual is deceiving when it comes to looking for calibration in reticle. Manual says it should say .223 calibration when actually it say M249 inside reticle. Called Trijicon freaking out thinking they sent me the wrong model since M249 is a saw machine gun. Tech support told me it’s correct the ta11h can be used on a .223 or M249 (hash marks past 800m is for M249) the military uses it interchangeably between M4 and M249. Very confusing but other than that amazing product! Well worth the money best optic I have ever looked through in my life. ... show more

  • Best optic on the market but choose a reputable seller
Color: Red Style: Horseshoe/Dot 5.56 (.223 cal)
Trijicon Acogs have been proven over and over again, all over the world and will go through just about anything you put them through, highly recommended over any optic as it’ll last you a lifetime, BUT make sure you choose a reputable seller because Amazon will not for any reason let you return it, it appears any high value item on Amazon now is a “final sale” according to Amazon ... show more

  • Absolutely Awesome - Just as you'd expect from ACOG.
Color: Red Style: Horseshoe/Dot 5.56 (.223 cal)
After saving for 3 years I was finally ready to pull the trigger and get an ACOG as I was already used to them from my time in the sandbox. I had used the 4 power and loved it. But this time I went with the 3 because I wanted a little bit better eye relief and I was not disappointed. This thing performs great! Holds zero after 500 rounds of 7.62. No ghosting when looking from dark space out to light. And keeping both eyes open while shooting, can easily use this for close ranges as well as far. ... show more

  • Excellent sight definitely worth the price tag
Color: Red Style: Horseshoe/Dot 5.56 (.223 cal)
Excellent sight definitely worth the price tag, glass clarity is top notch and makes the magnification seem higher. I own an Aimpoint Micro T2 and EOTech 517, can't wait to try the Trijicon MRO next swapped from the 517. Can't go wrong with the Acog, weight wasn't a problem on my LWRC IC SPR - it balances nicely. ... show more

  • Awesome scope!
After one year of saving for this particular buy I finally got it. The first one was lost and it freaked me out... Thankfully Amazon made it right and overnighted me a replacement. I am grateful. From just opening the package I can say I an happy. This is one nice piece of EQ. I've never owned one so in gonna figure it out as I go along, and will be adding to my review in the firt chance I get after I take it to the range. ... show more

  • Horseshoe / Dot not good for longer distances
I should have got the Chevron reticle. The green is good but the Horse Shoe/ Dot does not work well for longer distance shooting. The Dot covers up too much of the target. I have another Acog with the Red Chevron and get much tighter groups with it, than I can get with the Horse Shoe/ Dot.
