I bought this electric planer because my old hand plane was taking forever to smooth rough lumber for furniture builds and door trims, and I needed something powered for faster, more even results without the arm fatigue. The adjustable depth and dust collection port looked like they'd make it practical for shop use and cleaner work. I've used it on several projects—flattening boards for a new shelf unit, shaving down high spots on a door that wouldn't close properly, and smoothing reclaimed wood for a coffee table top. The 3-1/4 inch blade cuts smoothly with good power on hardwoods and softwoods alike, the depth adjustment knob is precise for taking off thin shavings or more material as needed, and the kickstand keeps the blade off the surface when set down. The dust bag attaches securely and catches most of the chips to keep the shop less messy, the front and rear handles feel comfortable with good grip even during longer sessions, and the aluminum body is lightweight yet durable without flexing under pressure. The blade changes are straightforward with the included wrench. For the price, it's excellent value—performs better and feels more balanced than some cheaper planers I've tried that vibrated badly or bogged down on denser wood, and the build quality holds up well with no overheating or blade wobble after repeated use. It makes quick work of flattening and surfacing without excessive noise or hassle.
