I bought the shade to put in our guest bedroom, but ended up putting it in our laundry room over the window. It fit the window perfectly. It was extremely easy to put up. My son actually put it up for us and had not problems. The glide action of raising and lowering the shade is very smooth. It is easy to raise it, just a slight tug and it rolls up and it comes back down just as easily. I love that it blocks the sun from coming in that room and I would definitely order another one of these.

Does not fully blackout

This shade goes up and down really smoothly and puts no strain on the brackets to which it is attached. It’s a simple black shade that looks a little like a projector screen. I’m tempted to put a transfer on it to try and dress it up. lol. Aside from being plain, I took a star away because it didn’t fully blackout my window. If I had curtains on each side of it, it may block out all the light, but I got it for a huge window on a door. I tried putting some Velcro on the shade and the door and press the shade to the door, but it still allowed in a bit of light around it. I wouldn’t call this a blackout shade. It’s more like a room darkening shade. It provides a decent amount of coverage, but it is not fully blackout.
