This was the perfect cord for extending power to a Christmas tree against a wall with no outlets. The brown fades into the wooden floor and baseboards well, so it isn't obvious. I got a cloth cord over a cheaper plastic cord because those plastic ones tend to get gummy over the years. The 8-foot extension was just right for getting behind a corner cabinet with enough length left to reach the window center about a meter from the cabinet. I'm keeping it there throughout the year for random needs - it blends into the background against the oak floors and teak cabinet. I was originally looking for a cord with a surge protector, but they all have large chunky ends. In the end, I decided a better solution is to get a surge protector outlet cover (the box-shaped one that plugs into both outlets and turns 2 into 4-6 outlets), and plug the extension into that: Surge protection, small plug end. ... show more
