If you like a Sumatra, this is very good. I used it in my espresso machine. I would rate it: 7 out of 10 on strength/boldness, not week, but not as strong as some dark espresso. 9 out of 10 on overall flavor. It has a distinctly earthy flavor but very good. I can easily drink this coffee black. Its not at all bitter. I wouldn't call it sweet, but more neutral. Overall, this is a very good coffee, especially for the price so long as you are not turned off by the relatively strong earthiness taste.

I have grown more and more picky about my coffee and prefer a slightly bolder flavor. Just want a clean, pure coffee flavor with rich aroma and no add-on flavors like mocha, cinnamon, etc. I also am getting more value conscious. I already cut out my Starbucks runs. (Very inconsistent on their daily bold brew). The Sumatra blend hits all this aspects. Great solid coffee flavor and good value in 2lb bag.

Updating after having ordered this multiple times. This last time, the beans are dark roast, burnt. It's the last time for ordering it on our end. I couldn't really stomach the beans. I've gotten it through Amazon and a Warehouse store. Both have the same issues, so this is on the brand. I want a good light roast. I'm going to try roasting beans myself for this reason. Life is too short for bad coffee. Pros: Good quality beans for the cost Grinds well (we do an Espresso Grind for ours) Produces the good coffee smell on demand Tastes good without adding as much sweetener Cons: Is bitter compared to other Light Roasts that I've had (and even compared to some higher end Medium Roasts) Overall: The beans look darker than I would expect for a light roast. The coffee tastes too bitter to drink black (which is not the usual issue with Light Roasted quality beans). The color of the roast is darker than expected for a Light Roast. It's a good product for the amount spent, and we ordered a second bag to give it a second chance. The second bag is just as dark (Medium Roast) as the first bag. So, this is the last bag of this coffee we will order. If you like a good Medium Roast, then this is a good coffee choice. However, if you prefer a quality Light Roast, it is not.

Fresh out of the bag, before grinding, these beans smell amazing. Sumatra [Indonesia, single] has always been a favorite of mine, and I've been curious abt Copper Moon for a while now. The roast is lovely; smooth enough to drink black, even for a diehard cream+sugar person, like myself. That's wild. The unit price + SNAP EBT eligibility makes it very affordable -- and available -- for everyone!! Even poor folk, like myself lol I thought that was a nice bonus. I can't wait to try their other origins (altho I definitely plan to stay stocked up on Sumatra). ♡
