Great heat press with even pressure and a convenient slide-out tray

I’ve been using this heat press for both DTF transfers and sublimation, and I’m very happy with its performance. One of my favorite features is the slide-out tray, which makes it much easier and more comfortable to position the garments and work with the design. The pressure is very even across the pressing area, which is especially important when working with DTF and sublimation to achieve consistent results. The machine also feels sturdy and easy to use. I’m really impressed with the quality of this CoolSub heat press. It feels sturdy, heats evenly, and the pressure is easy to adjust. The slide-out drawer makes placing garments safer and more precise. For the price, it’s a great value — especially compared to other presses with fewer features. I’ve used it for DTF prints on shirts, and the results come out clean, smooth, and professional every time. If you run a small business or craft from home, this heat press is definitely worth it.

Good for crafting, not so much for apparel decorating.

For a crafters heat press, this works well. It heats quickly, and the user interface is bold and easy to see. Changing the settings requires reading the manual so you understand the functions. It came set to degrees in Celsius, so I had to read how to change that, probably the least obvious function to figure out of you don't have the manual. I like that the countdown timer starts when the press is closed, and it also has a counter for how many units you've pressed. The slideout tray helps with loading and unloading of materials. I also dig the star cutouts on the base of the machine, and the durability of the material and design. This press comes in either hot pink or guacamole green. I ended up with the guac green because I couldn't wait an extra day for the pink. There are a few places where this press fall short of being a professional apparel decorating option. There is no sensor for how much pressure when closed. The platen is NOT interchangeable with smaller platens. The big one for me is that I can't put a garment on around the platen, you have to lay the garment flat on the platen, which makes it harder to ensure centering of your image. There's also not a lot of clearance between the platen and the hinge for the garment to bulk up, like say if you are pressing a sweatshirt, you need somewhere for the additional material to go. Overall, this is probably one of the best presses of its category on Amazon. I've destroyed a few of the others, and this one, so far, has been better. It's not an end to all means, but it is a solid option that will get you by in a pinch. This review has been brought to you by an apparel decorator that has a fair bit of experience with screen presses and heat presses.

HEAT CONSISTENCY PROBLEMS

Machine is not constructed badly, however the heating element is TERRIBLE!! Be careful pressing anything that is anything with polyester or somewhat delicate to heat. The panel registers 305 degrees on the left side and 375 degrees on the right side, 340 degrees in the center ALL OVER A 15" AREA.. I bought this in Sept last year and it works fine for cotton tshirts. But I have ruined customer product because temperature is SO OFF!! Not enough heat on one side and the other side burns products. Maybe mine is just a LEMON

Works great. Pros: love that the plate slides out so it is easy to position the shirts/hoodies. Con: if you set the pressure too high (which you have to guess at) it can be hard to open. I had a hoodie in it and had a hard time opening it on my first attempt. Lesson learned! Tips: I recommend setting the pressure and testing it BEFORE your turn it on. Also, be sure to set it on a no slip pad as it will slide when opening otherwise. Highly recommend it.
