Overall design is fair. It has only two zipper compartments and two side mesh pockets. I hate mesh pockets since they can allow things to fall out, and the elastic and mesh fail quickly compared to the rest of the backpack. It would have been better to have one large, zippered dry compartment in addition to the cooler compartment. Ther cooler compartment is large, but the front pocket is only large enough to carry individually packaged snacks, so this is really just a cooler. On the plus side, the narrow design and backstraps make it comfortable to carry a 7lb bag of ice and some drinks all day, and the zippers work without sticking. It also is very waterproof in the cooler! I compared its insulation against 2 other coolers and a couple of can coolers. I placed a frozen water bottle in each (the can coolers were placed on the top and bottom of a bottle to form a poor man's cooler) and was surprised when there was no noticeable difference in the melt speed! There was almost no melt after 8 hours, and about 75% melt after 15 hours. Most of the time they were kept at 70 to 75 degrees. They all had chilled water bottles at 20 hours. I then tested this cooler with a 7lb bag of ice and some drinks. I walked it through the woods on my shoulders and provided iced drinks for my friends several times during the trip. It was comfortable and had about 30% ice melt after 15 hours. Not bad! What really impressed me is I forgot to unload it after this trip and let the cooler sit in my kitchen floor for 3 days. No leaks, no sweating, and it did not leak around the seams when I poured out the water, like other soft coolers I have. So, the bottom line is it is a good hiking / event cooler if you have others carrying the dry goods and will not leak and ruin your day. The insulation is adequate for daytrips but not for overnight. My two main grips are the mesh pockets, and that the inner lining is not near as heavy gauge as it should be for the price. A drybag is much heavier. I will probably use this for trips to the park and zoo with my granddaughters, but I think it is overpriced.

As a family we're getting out on more day trips; hikes, fishing trips, etc. and wanted to pick up a small backpack cooler for drinks and snacks. This backpack is comfortable, the straps are thick and well padded. When it's full, it's not overly heavy and is still easy to wear. The inside of the cooler is built like a drybag, you fill it with your ice, food, and drinks and then roll down the top of the bag and clip it closed. Once it's closed you simply zip the cover over it and you're good to go. Overall the cooler is great. It keeps things cold, doesn't seem to leak, and is comfortable to wear.

So right up front this works pretty well. And I actually tested it over a 24 hour period. We placed a quart of ice cubes in the bag and sealed it closed. The ambient air temperature inside the bag (measured with a waterproof temperature probe) fell immediately and remained consistently about 10 °F below the ambient air temperature. (The ice would have been much colder, but to test the insulation we measured internal and external air temp.) At about 24 hours the ice had all melted, and the air temperature rose to within a degree or two of ambient. The water in the bag, however, was a crisp 55 °F in a room that was approximately 68 °F. The cold water temperature was quite adequate to have kept a drink at the refreshing level if it were sitting in the water. Although the bag was left sitting undisturbed, no leakage was noted. The waterproof element is in fact an internal bag that is rolled and sealed much like any other dry bag on the market. From the outside it looks like any other regular backpack. Indeed, like any nicely made backpack of its size , it has moderately padded straps, padding along the back rest, a chest strap, two side pockets, and a zippered outside back pocket that can hold all sorts of goodies: Small snacks, garnishes (lemons, limes) a small knife, corkscrews, etc. The side pockets can handle a about a 1 L water bottle, maybe 1.5 L, or other un-chilled bottles (the pockets on the sides each can accommodate a taller bottle). The bag is tall enough it could handle 4-5 chilled wine bottles + the two un-chilled pockets. All in all flexible and functional. The unit loses one star because there is no way we could find to fit 33 cans of anything into the cold area. There are a couple of external pouches, but even then it would not approach anything like 33 cans. And when we say cans we are talking about the standard 12-ounce soda can that is found in the US and in many places around the world. Although We tried stacking the cans several different ways the most that we could fit was 16 full size cans with enough room for ice along the sides and on the top. It May well be there is a secret Tetris like way to pack them but we have not stumbled upon it yet. If you need to schlep something cold, this is a good option. ( It is not a good substitute for a well insulated box cooler. )

This bag was a must when I went to the beach and out on the jetski. The bag has a front pocket for storing small essentials suck as keys, phone or other items. The large compartment once top is unzipped has a pouch inside with buckle which you can put any items such as towels or those small essentials or turn it into a cooler and have drinks and food with ice. It's very versatile. Once items are in you get some air out and roll down the bag and snap and then push down and zip top. The booking strap feature makes it easy for carrying and moving around. I had no issues with leaks and have also taking it hiking (walks) as well and it was comfortable and easy to use.
