I love love love this cool gel mattress! It is absolutely amazing ! It’s firm but not to firm the support is top notch! When I lay down at night it’s just simply amazing ! I purchased this for my father, he is a double amputee and stuck in bed most of the day as he adjust. He has Hospital Bed frame that is adjustable so I did TONS of research trying to find the BEST mattress I could for him as he has been stuck on the generic hospital mattresses for over a year now. I have to say I was very happy with this purchase but my Dad was REALLY HAPPY with this purchase. He wanted something firm and something that would hold shape, something where we wouldn't be sinking in the bed and offered some stability. This mattress did it all for him. He wanted something with coils as he felt that would hold shape best but on an adjustable bed frame a mattress with coils is not possible. He was able to get up and sit up with ease, he sleeps were much better and comfier on this mattress and he wasn't sinking in which was very important to him especially with Physical Therapy. This mattress took shape quick, and as others have said the top is soft almost a gel like feel but the core itself is firm so if you are looking for a firm mattress this is it. We only had for a few days but as of now this is "the best sleep I had in over a year" my dad's exact words. Seeing him being able to sit himself up and have the confidence to be able to sit up, stay up and on the side of the bed for over on hour was the best gift I could have given him. His previous mattresses had a lot of movement during his PT session's which would throw him off some. So the mattress not only offers him a comfy sleep it also offers him the stability he needs during his PT session's. **Sooo... we had to adjust the size of the mattress, a standard hospital bed fame is 34 inches wide, and this mattress is 39 inches wide. It was NO PROBLEM. Seriously, I took an electric craving knife YES, the kind you use at Thanksgiving to cut your turkey and sliced right through the mattress with ease AND straight as could be. It took me about 20 minutes to cut the mattress. The mattress is holding shape just fine and my Dad says even now the mattress is one of BEST he has had to sleep on.** So YES this will work on a hospital bed frame, it WILL adjust with the different positions an adjustable bedframe has to offer and YES this mattress can be cut with NO damage being done and the mattress will hold the SAME shape as the day you purchased it. ... show more

Bought this for my camper. The mattress that was in it was old and very uncomfortable. As soon as i put this on the bed, It seemed like it was gonna be very comfortable. Was very easy getting it out of the plastic and putting on the bed, just had to have my husband help as it was a bit heavy. Cant wait till it gets the size its suppose to be so i can test it out. Will leave an update when that happens. Shipping was very fast. Was very impressed. It has a weird smell to it but im sure its because it was in the plastic. Its a nice sunny day today so have all the windows open so that should help. UPDATE: Slept on it last night and it was not comfortable at all to me. Its very very firm!! Tossed and turned all night long. My whole body was hurting so bad. Its so hard!! Im sure if you like firm, this mattress would be for you. I like somewhat firm but this was a bit too firm. Over 24 hours later and the top corners are still pressed down, they did not expand like the rest of the bed which caused my head to be downhill. UPDATE: 6 days later. Its risen as far as its going to. The top corners still are pinched down and didnt rise up all the way. Still cant sleep on the mattress. Its still VERY firm. Its a very nice mattress but just too firm for me and the ends didnt rise all the way up. They gave me a full refund and suppose to have it within 3-5 days. ... show more

We've had this bed since May 4 2015, so not very long. It was very easy to unpack and light enough to move around easily on my own. I'm a female and only 5'1. It does have a smell when you first open it. We opened it at 7am, open all the bedroom windows and left two fans running and closed the bedroom door. We went to bed at 12 midnight and the smell was mostly gone. It wasn't so bad that we couldn't sleep. The bed is very firm, yet comfortable enough to sleep on. I normally like very soft beds but my boyfriend prefers firm so I went with this bed, since some reviews said it was soft/yet firm. I can see how some people might think it is somewhat soft, but it really isn't. It's mostly just firm. My boyfriend doesn't like it. We had been sleeping on an air bed and that was very comfortable put it moved too much and I hated that. Plus with airbeds you have to replace them every year since they start to deflate on a regular basis. Thus why I thought to try this bed. Whatever you do, do not put a protector on this bed!!!! It seals in the heat and makes sleeping very uncomfortable and you'll wake up full of sweat, at least I did. I finally removed the protector last night and it made a huge difference! The other thing most nights I can't get my pillows in a comfortable position no matter what I do. Most mornings I wake up with a stiff neck and hurt shoulder. It's pretty much hit or miss if I can get comfortable with my pillows even if I position them exactly the same way of a "good night" not really sure what the issue is. In short if you like a very firm bed this bed is for you, if you don't do not buy it. Update: It's now January, 2019, so the mattress is almost 5 years old. It's held up very well, and now both my boyfriend and I love it. It took a couple of months but eventually the bed molded to us well. ... show more
