I am very surprised how much I like these shorts. Not because of anything I read in the description, but, I guess, more because the description does not match reality. Observations: ~True to size. I sized up thinking the elastic would help. I should have stuck with the XL. The elastic does help, but it is not there as a total crutch. These are on the outside edge of fitting, but they are fine with a belt. ~Lightweight. These remind me of a go to outdoor brand of mine based out of Columbia, Washington in terms of weight of the shorts. ~Big Pockets. The pockets on these things are huge. Which is nice when out and about. Take the sizing literally, and I think you will like these a lot. Recommend.

These are nylon/spandex, which means that they are lightweight and cool. I'm not always a fan of the extra pockets on cargo pants, but at least these lay very flat so you can basically ignore them. If you like them, use them. The back pocket has a zipper, which is nice in this type of shorts. They are (for me) a good length. The legs are comfortably loose, but not big and billowing. In short, I like the design and cut. The listing mentions that it as a partial-elastic waist, which makes them comfortable. But if I have one complaint, it's that they fit a little bit loose already. With the added stretch of the waist (the elastic is made for comfort and not tightness), I would really have to wear a belt. That's fine for golf, but it won't work for me to wear them as fishing shorts. (I live on the coast, and I do wade fish in these kinds of nylon shorts.) For just wear-around shorts, I think they would stay up if I have a shirt tucked in, but with a shirt worn out I would definitely need a belt. I knocked off one star for the fit, and I don't know if I should have. They're nice shorts other than the fit. I've lost a few pounds lately, so some of it may just be me. If you're in between sizes, you should probably pick the smaller one. They look good, and I would wear them for summer events for the way we dress here on the coast. I won't be wearing them to wade fish, though, just because of the fit.

Rather thin fabric. Lots of elasticity in the waist band. Fit is decent and quite comfortable. Not really going to last long if you're hiking rocks but will do for a walk in the park.

These shorts are a little thin, almost to the point of being see through. However, they fit well and will be great this summer. The fabric feels nice and not too flimsy; these would make great shorts for outdoor activities. like golfing, fishing, and light hiking. If you live somewhere with hot summers, you'd appreciate this pair.

These are some really comfortable shorts for outdoor activities but nice enough to be considered kinda dressy. The material is stretchy and breathable while appearing to be some sort of "rip-stop" nylon. Sizing is accurate and the fit is very nice.

These shorts are very thin and you can see the light if you hold them up. I immediately got concerned but tried them on anyway. They fit true to size based on the size guide in the description. They have an elastic waist partways around and also have belt loops. The back right pocket is zippered with a small tether pull. The button in front is large and secures well. The zipper works smoothly. Very important to me is they are not snug in the garage area and are not all up in my business. The length is good for me and I am 6'3". I asked my lovely wife to assess them from a bystander's perspective. She said that she could see my gray boxers a little and that I would need to go with lighter drawers if I were to go out in public. So overall these are very light and comfortable and look to be constructed well with no wayward stitching. Just make sure you check before going out that you aren't showing off your unmentionables.

I ordered a medium sized. I am about 5'8, 160lbs, and a 31" waist. While it fit me okay in the waist, I found the length of the crotch area to be quite long and the legs to be long. I get that these are cargo shorts and not slim fit, but I felt the cargo aspect was still a bit more on the baggy side than I was anticipating. On the other hand they are lightweight and decent comfort.
