NOTE: I bought the battery pack only version of this listing. I haven't used the charging dock and this review is about the battery only. Pros: * it works, no glaring build quality issues or unexpected problems so far after a few weeks of use * comes with both Xbox One and Xbox Series controller cover pieces, and the battery pack itself works in both * it holds charge better than I expected, especially given the price - if you leave your controller charged but not plugged in for a few days it'll still be mostly charged * the proprietary exposed metal charging thing used by Controller Gear's charging dock is unobtrusive, and charging via the controller's built-in USBC port is also supported, making this "replacement" listing a pretty good deal as a standalone battery pack Cons: * no passthru charging - while the controller is in use, USB powers the controller but does not continue charging the battery * you can't remove the battery pack and charge it unless you have a Controller Gear charging dock - the only way to charge it without needing other Controller Gear products is in a controller, and that controller cannot be used while charging * 1100mAh is on the low end nowadays for controller battery packs in this price range All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase, but the low capacity and the trade-offs and caveats that come with its ability to use the controller's built-in charging port are worth at least a star off. I considered going with 3 but the fact that it looks and feels reasonably well built in a market flooded with sometimes dangerously cheap and shoddy battery packs seems worthy of rounding up to 4. To sum up: this is a pretty solid cheaper alternative to the official Plug & Play battery pack, but that savings comes with a couple lost features, most notably passthru charging, and has less capacity than many other third party packs that come with their own dedicated chargers. I was actually just looking for a stand for my controller and had no idea this thing was a charging dock lol! So I was pleasantly surprised to have this extra feature for pretty cheap. Having said that, the one I got was obviously a return but it didn't even look like they tried to repackage it or anything so it came looking a little rough hahaha. No worries though seems to be working well and looks pretty cool too ... show more

This thing is heavy, and you won't ever have to worry about it tipping over/falling off of your desk/setup. It has an extremely nice, ergonomic feel to it and your Xbox One controller will sit perfectly on this. I've had 0 problems with the charging itself, it picks up right away and begins charging. - Premium quality look, feel, & design. - Ergonomic, heavy, and has a rubber base so it wont slip. - Comes with a power cord, battery pack, and dark gray & red battery plate cover that matches the CP2077 Limited Ed. Xbox One Controller, but will fit all Xbox One Controllers. - Controller sits perfectly on the charging stand / won't slip. - Begins charging right away. - Orange LED indicator light to indicate the controller is charging / turns white when full charged. The only thing that concerns me is the battery pack itself: when I got it I plugged it into the controller and charged it up. There's an LED light, which is orange when charging and white when complete. I took the controller off of the charger the moment it turned white, waited about an hour... then put it back on the charger just to see if it was recognized as fully charged. It wasn't/it seemed to have lost about 20 minutes worth of charge just from being off of the stand, never once powered on. This means that either 1) the charging stand won't immediately recognize a full charge... or 2) the battery pack loses battery life quickly. With all of that said, I haven't tested to see how long the battery will last on a full charge while gaming, and will update my review when I have. Highly recommend (so far), 4.8 out of 5.0. UPDATE: I wanted to write a quick update to this review, and up my rating to a 4.8/5.0, as the battery pack lasts a MINIMUM of 8 hours. While I do drop it on the charging stand sometimes, and keep it at full charge, I've gamed on this thing for 8 hours in a single session and it hasn't seemed to come close to dying. That said: as with all wireless controllers I've used, sometimes the controller seems to lose connection/needs to be power cycled... though, this may be a problem with Windows 10 Bluetooth and not the controller itself. This is a nice looking Xbox controller charging stand that works as expected. I purchased the Xbox Core Wireless Controller โ€“ Carbon Black (ASIN: B08DF248LD) along with this charging stand and they match perfectly with each other. The only, but big, negative is the battery and battery cover. The charging stand is specifically made for ONLY the included battery and battery cover. So you can not use an existing OEM rechargeable battery. Worst of all is that the battery is not available to purchase on its own. So if/when the battery dies, you can not readily purchase a new battery without purchasing an entire charging stand. If the battery issue isnโ€™t a deal breaker for you, I highly recommend purchasing this charging stand along with the matching controller. ... show more
