  • Never Ending Power If You Stay Near A Plug
This works exactly as you would expect it to as long as you have a wall outlet or extension cord with you. You can run your camera for as long as you need to with this. The "fake" battery goes into the battery compartment and on the Sony A7Rii, there is a rubber piece that the cable fits through so that the battery door can close. The cable length is really long so you can reach the power outlet and your camera without having to worry about cables dangling in the air. It doesn't get too hot and so far, it as worked out nicely. Pretty expensive for what you are getting but if you have the access to power, its way nicer to use this than to have to swap out batteries when they die. ... show more

  • Maybe Don't Cheap Out
Can't speak for the longevity of this thing but at the moment it works well. Upgraded from a knockoff brand AC adapter and I don't regret it. The knockoff did work but the Sony one just feels higher quality and it gets rid of the battery percentage at the top where the knockoff didn't and just lost battery percentage slowly. The cable is really long as well and almost a mess to manage because of its length so I don't think there will be any cable length issues. ... show more

  • Continuous power with an extra long cord for your Sony Alpha series camera
Works exactly to spec and has extended my recording time on my A6000 without worry of battery depletion. The extra long cord helps with stationary placement and you don't even have to close the battery flap (although you can if you need to). This does NOT solve the A6000 camera overheating issue however, as the cam will still overheat and shut down temporarily. ... show more

  • Perfect for Sony A7
This works exactly as intended on my Sony A7. While the battery door has a small flap to accommodate the cord entry/exit from the battery box, I have found it is easier to just remove the door altogether when using this for my time-lapse photography near a power supply. The only downside is, as always with Sony products, the product is pricey compared to the generic products. However, with the discounted price through A-prime, it is worth some cost premium for me to have OEM gear, especially when plugging a potentially damaging voltage supply into an expensive camera. ... show more

  • Sony AC Adaptor is a must to have!
I use this adapter with my NEX-7. It probably deserves only 3 stars but since there is no alternative and it is a must have, I gave it 4 stars since it does do the job. If you transfer pictures from you camera to your computer using the USB connection, you need to use the AC adapter. The NEX-7 takes a lot of power when transferring pictures and if you run out - your pictures could be corrupted. The handbook also recommends using the AC adapter when formatting cards. If you run out of power while formatting a card, you card could be toast. One could start with a fully charged battery and do the operation but if you are transferring a lot of movies this could be a problem. The charger is heavy so I won't be taking it on any trips. It works well at home. To use, you replace the battery in the camera with the "battery-like" end of the cable. You then are suppose to open a little door in the battery compartment cover to put the cord through. However, the cord is to big to fit in the slot so you have to turn the camera upside down with the battery cover opened to use this gizmo. ... show more

  • Does NOT Work With 7R3 :(
From the description, I thought it would work with my 7R3. NOPE. Too small. Money tossed down the toilet. :) I live in Ecuador, where I had to pay a courier to bring it down, and the cost of trying to return it is too high to justify trying to change it out. Just another pile of junk in a back drawer now. :( ... show more

  • Plug in your camera and forget about the battery life
I needed to shoot interviews all day long and didn't want to rely on batteries. This worked perfectly.
