I admit that I was a bit skeptical when I ordered this as I was hoping to find a similar very compact dryer like my Braun, which failed me after over 15yrs of service. And when I saw all the wattage put out by this unit, I felt it was a bit over-done for a small travel type and I didn't want something so hot that my hair would be toast. But I was pleasantly surprised in that the lower wattage setting...whatever that output is, seems to be almost perfect, maybe not quite as warm as my old Braun unit which seemed to have softer and less air flow on the lower setting. But with this Conair, if I need a bit more drying power I just select the more aggressive setting for a minute or so. I also noted this product appears to have a heavier duty cord than my old Braun product. I like that and with the nice compact folding handle I feel this Conair is, so far at least, well-designed and a good value. ... show more

It's small, lightweight, and ergonomically easy to hold. It's perfect for travel or for arts and crafts. Can be easily stored in my suitcase or my craft bin for dual purpose. The handle can be folded in, which helps with space saving. Highly recommended.

I don't use hair dryers that much, but since I am on a quest to grow my hair out, I needed a hair dryer to style my hair during the transitional period. I went with this one because of the price I paid ($15), and it being a fold design and having a "Cooling" button. I'll make this review short and to the point: I like it. It has ample cord length, switches (Low, Off, High positions) all work fine, the force of the heat blowing is also great. What I don't like, and it's a minor thing to ME; the "Cooling" button is hard to press and to maintain the position. It is a single button click. Would have been nice if the design was a rocker switch or a sliding button that you don't have to constantly hold. Other than that, great hair dryer! Works as intended! ... show more

This little dryer worked great for me in France, UK, Spain and Italy. The low setting at 250v is identical to the high setting at 120v. When it's set to 250v, you can only use the low setting (which is like high) - it locks the high setting to prevent it from being used. So, if you like to use the low setting on your hair dryer (for a less powerful heat/blow), you wouldn't have that option when it's set to 250v. Personally, I don't ever use the low setting - I want my hair to dry as quickly as possible! And that's exactly what this little guy does for me. It is a little loud, but in my experience, that's how it is with small hair dryers - and it's a small price to pay for so much power in such a small package. I also find that my long hair gets more easily sucked up into small dryers, and this one is no exception. I just take a little extra care not to keep the air intake close to my hair - which isn't hard, since it's opposite from the dryer nozzle I use this when I'm traveling in the states, too, but not when I'm home, as I have a larger quieter dryer I use when I'm not traveling. This dryer folds up very compactly, and is easy to fit into even a small bag. I love this little dryer - if it broke, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. ... show more

Excellent product. We went to Ireland, Scotland, and London last summer (2014) and were gone for 3 weeks. I bought this for the trip since it has the dual controls for both the US and for foreign electricity. It worked well in all 3 countries. I also bought it for it's compact size and the fact that the handle folds. We took backpacks rather than suitcases and I needed something that wasn't bulky or took up a lot of room. It is also very powerful for it's size. In fact, since we've been home, I routinely pull this out to dry my hair on a daily basis rather than my big, bulky dryer. This one is faster, is easier to handle, and does an excellent job. I would recommend this anyone looking for a good quality hair dryer in general and definitely for someone going on an extended trip where luggage space is limited. ... show more

LOUD. Works great, compact, light weight, but super high pitched sound. I thought I might just be sensitive to the loud noise but it made my Apple Watch noise alert go off when I use it. Returning it.
