The theory behind this packaged soil is genius. I ordered 3 bags, put them in a big (Home Depot orange bucket) and added water. Do not do that. I should have only put 1 in because these bags make a lot of soil. I was genuinely surprised. I will need to order more because my project was on the larger side. It doesn't make as much as one of those large bags of soil seen in the garden center, but it's more than made up by the quality, consistency and ease of use. The bags take up way less space than traditional soil bags so it's easy to have a few on hand for random planting, transplanting, etc. I like everything about this product. Definitely will be ordering more. I did add coco coir to it for my particular planting project. It does help this soil go even farther and has other benefits, but that's just my preference. This product is just as advertised. It expands as you mix it with water and is light weight. Easy to start your seeds. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I just started my seeds and have not been able to see if the soil is as good as they claim. I was surprised at how small the package was when it arrived on my doorstep, but as promised the compressed soil quadrupled when I added water. I had plenty of soil from just the one bag to plant a bunch of vegetables and up-pot some of my house plants. The soil was also so fun to squish in my hands and play with as it was expanding! Now after a few weeks I am amazed at how well the soil has retained moisture! I haven't had to water my houseplants that are using that soil at all. For that reason it seems very environmentally sound! I am excited to see little wormies crawling around and can already tell that my plants are loving the added nutrients and are going to boom as spring continues to spring its thing! I am so impressed with this potting soil. Every couple of months I would buy soil of varying brands in search of the best one. I think I finally found it! I recently went through a move where I had to transport all my plants and they really took a beating. I wanted to repot and freshen them up so I bought Organic Plant Magic- its only been a couple of days but I can tell they are THRIVING! I cant wait to see what they will look like in a few weeks, months, years even!! Extra bonus points for being all-natural and safe for pets, since I have two pups.
