I was a bit scared to purchase this item because of the amount of people who bought it. Usually I will only purchase an item if I see that it's been purchased many times. I researched and read reviews for microscopes on Amazon and eBay for weeks before making this purchase. It was packed very carefully and thoughtfully first of all. It worked immaculately! I haven't tried the 5mp camera since I don't have a laptop yet but will shortly. But so far so good I am very impressed on well it's made especially for the price. I will definitely update after more use and after I've tested the camera option. Overall I am very satisfied, I do recommend and would most likely will purchase more from this vendor. Got this for son for Christmas, we have used it a lot to look at blood samples for our chickens blood samples to diagnose sickness. This microscope exceeded our expectation.

The customer service was great and overall the microscope works well. However I was disappointed that the camera doesn't photograph the entire field of view. It seems to photograph about 1/20th of the field of view on low power (even smaller on higher power).

The media could not be loaded. I'm giving it a 5 star review with no prior microscopy exp.. despite being completely satisfied with the camera and phone attachment. My phone weighs down the fitting and I in turn have to hold my phone up to actually not have half of the view blocked, and the image produced by the camera they provided is grainy at best... *So far. Overall it's been fun..and that's real footage of my own blood.. other notes... An issue that I'm not to comfortable elaborating on.. is stressing the importance to Learn about microscopy before use.... ~it can be dangerous~ secondly... I came across information on utilizing the oil lense... Luckily before I tried.... Do not get oil on your other lenses ~"you will ruin them as they are not designed to be used with it"~ ... show more

Honestly I can't even tell you if this works. No directions. None. Cannot get the software to work, on a great PC or a brand new iPad pro. The software is on one of those tiny 2" CDs. No one has a drive for those now. Even through the eyepieces we are struggling to get something we can see at all. My wife has a two masters degrees and still this is just impossible. Just don't buy it. Get something with support. FYI - I replaced this with a different unit and the image in the eyepiece is 4 times larger than this one. This is absolute junk. ... show more

Liked the microscope. Dislike the fact that my software disc arrived broken and no one responded to my request to get a new one.
