We wanted to get a good microscope for both us and our kids to use as they started high school, and after a bit of research we decided on this one. Honestly, at first, the whole 40X to 2000X magnification thing felt a bit intimidating but this one has really good documentation. When it arrived, I was surprised by how solid it felt. It isn't some flimsy plastic toy - it looks like a REAL microscope. Setting it up was pretty simple, even for someone like me who's not exactly a science whiz. The instructions were clear and well written, and within minutes, I had it plugged in and ready to go. The binocular eyepieces make looking through the microscope more like looking through binoculars, rather than like a monocular. Adjusting the focus is really very easy to do, and even the kids can get good, clear images. We started with the included slides, and wow, the detail was incredible! I could see things I never even imagined, like the intricate structure of plant cells and the tiny details on insect wings. The kids have spent hours looking at everything they can find. The different magnification levels let us zoom in and see things at different scales. At 2000X, things get super fascinating. We feel like real scientists!

This is a nice addition to our homeschool projects. Battery operated or plug in, a very nice case with protection and a dust cover when left out. Came with some pre-loaded slides and a bunch of slides we can add our own subjects. Works well with the phone attachment to take pictures of the subjects as seen in the photo of an onion slice. Pretty easy to use with a lot of adjustment capabilities, the book has a different microscope pictured but still works for this microscope, for most parts. Pretty good value for our homeschool budget!

After testing this product I can confirm the following: slide covers to seal the test specimen(s) need to ordered (not included with purchase), closeness viewing is hella good and it's a good buy. Overall, this product fed my curiosity cat with leftovers for days. 10/10 would recommend.

The product is of negligible value. The microscope is of a particularly poor quality, and the effect of looking at the specimen is not at all clear. The workmanship is rough and unfocused, and the instructions are an extremely poor standard.
