When first testing this umbrella, I was concerned that after I unwrapped it and pressed the button to extend it, the umbrella did not expand out all the way - a section of each rib (around where it connects to the stretcher) seemed a bit inverted. When I pressed the button again, it did successfully retract and I was able to close the umbrella again to 'reload' it. Despite that initial mishap, each successive extension has had no issues. I do like the ease of pressing the button to both unfold the umbrella and then to fold it back up, even if you have to manually press the ends together to 'reload' the umbrella. And even though this comes with an umbrella cover, I really don't know how long it'll last before it gets misplaced, hah. I'll probably take it off and keep it at home when I take the umbrella out with me. The overall quality of the middle tube, rib parts, aluminum stretchers, and the fabric seem to all be pretty good, and despite it being categorized as a compact travel umbrella, it seems to be a good size as well. So, overall I've been quite happy with this umbrella and will be sure to make use of it, especially when I go traveling and rain is expected! ... show more

Admittedly, my previous folding umbrella was going on 20 years old. Still, I expect this tidy option from bohunono (fun to try and say) will keep me satisfied for another 20. The whole umbrella is reassuringly stable - no slop in the mechanism or tube. It pops open and closed with urgency. The fabric, too, is sturdy without being excessively heavy, and I was impressed with the rich navy color. Even more impressive was the fabric's waterproofing - as soon as I stepped out of the downpour, it looked dry to the naked eye. On closer inspection, there were still tiny beads suspended on the surface, but these evaporated in a few minutes. We'll see how long that coating holds up. I also appreciated that the umbrella canopy was a little larger than average. Cowering under a tiny folding umbrella with a short handle makes me want to just skip it and use a jacket. If it won't keep you dry when you need it, it's not even worth carrying. But this one is - it's quite comfortable to use, making you feel a little more civilized and better-prepared. Finally, I was surprised by the dark wood handle. I wasn't expecting real wood. It's pleasant to hold, and a good accent color for the navy canopy. ... show more

This umbrella does a good job and it is nice to keep on-hand. When folded, it is a nice compact package and it comes with a protective fabric sleeve. To be honest, that sleeve won’t last long. I find that they always get separated from the umbrella and eventually lost. But, that is okay, because it really isn’t needed. The umbrella has a strap with a Velcro end to secure it when it is not being used. The umbrella unfolds nicely and sets itself at the push of a button. It only takes a second or two and it is ready to go in the rain. It definitely opens effectively without any issues. The fabric is nice and it is lightweight and strong. It sheds the water cleanly and it is easy to control in the wind. I really like the blue color. The attached photos show the blue a little brighter than it actually is. It is more understated and very elegant. The diameter of the open umbrella easily covers two people. This umbrella also folds easily and is set quickly to be ready for the next time it is opened. The mechanism is solid and efficient. An elegant tough is the wood handle they have fitted it with. It provides for a comfortable grip. I got this umbrella for my son to keep in his car. It is compact and pretty sturdy. We will see how it holds up in strong winds. It was also easy to get back in the protective sleeve, which was a nice surprise! He will be happy that he won't have to keep hunting down an umbrella on rainy days!

This is a good quality umbrella. We use umbrellas for two things in our house - for the rain (obviously) but also for the sun when we are going to be out in it for a while. This umbrella works great for both of those jobs. It is compact, but also big enough to shade 1-2 people. It opens quickly with a press of a button, and it also collapses with the press of a button as well. Then you just have to push the stem into the base to fully retract it. It has a nice cover, but whenever we get an umbrella we immediately throw that away because you never want to go through the hassle of trying to fit the closed up umbrella back into the sleeve - there's really no point to it. There is a velcro strop to hold the umbrella closed, and that's all we need. The handle for this umbrella is nice. It does the job it's supposed to do! ... show more

I absolutely love this umbrella! It is small and compact enough to carry all day without being a nuisance. The handle is beautiful and gives it a richer look! Once you remove the sleeve and undo the velcro strap, the umbrella is ready to spring into action and that's exactly what it does! With the press of a button, the umbrella shoots out and provides good protection from the rain. I usually like larger golf-type umbrellas but they are a nuisance to carry downtown with the crowds. This one works perfectly to navigate through the crowds. The umbrella also collapses with the press of the button! That is an awesome feature. You do have to press it together to completely collapse it back to carry size which is no big deal! Great umbrella! ... show more

I prefer compact umbrellas. I like the ability to keep one tucked in the car or have available when traveling. This one will be great for either case. As soon as I picked it up I could tell it was sturdier than some other compact umbrellas I have. It's not heavy, but it feels substantial. The automatic opening button works well. It's nice to be able to stick it out the car door and have it pop open before you have to get wet. Then, press it again and it collapses down. You only have to pull the top down to have it lock in at the handle. If you want to get it back in its case you do have to highly gather the umbrella when closed and secure the attached velcro strap. By doing that it's not too difficult to get into the provided case. All in all this works well. ... show more
