For price, quality, functionality, quality of life is outstanding. Found it does sometimes fling food as it cuts. Found it mainly happens at end of a block of meat/cheese... our experience with the machine is it's not the greatest with cheese, (soft or hard). It'll do it, but, we found it crumbles and wastes too much cheese. At the end of the day we found it is more economical to buy sliced cheese. To end on a happy note, it cuts the most beautiful ham for sandwiches. ... show more

This is useable, if you don't use a slicer very often. When I read the reviews, I read ones for the larger models too (since they are all mixed together on the same page), so I perhaps expected more than I should have with this base model. It slides around on my quartz countertop--suction feet are useless. I'm not fond of that plastic guard/pusher either, since it does not hold meat very well. The blade is simple to remove for cleaning, but there is a small metal piece near the bottom of the blade, attached to the body of the slicer, that is very difficult to clean thoroughly. (Try a plastic flosser.) While I do not think this is a great slicer, it is definitely better than no slicer, and it was what I was willing to pay for. If you can afford the 8" rather than the 7-1/2" one, I'd opt for that instead. ... show more

The directions are in such broken English they are jibberish. Cleaning is horrible. Slices are thicker at the beginning of the slice. The blade is coarse, even with built in stones to sharpen it. It throws bits of food as it is slicing and pulls slices behind the blade. Worst product I've ever bought. ... show more
