Features

  • This kit is made for the booster coil and has a professional circuit diagram for the convenience of electronics enthusiasts.1 set of list:PCB Board/120 ohm resistance/UF4007 ultra-fast recovery diode/N20 transistor/Heat sink/M3 * 6 screws/Boat switch/Pin header (3-8 Pin random)
  • Uses: Chinese-language general experiments, electronic instruments, negative ion generators, scientific small production, etc. This circuit works with a stable high-frequency arc, which is extremely high in temperature and can easily ignite combustibles. Therefore, it is called a plasma lighter.
  • Transformer structure: The transformer has two windings in the primary, one set of thick copper wire is the main winding, one set of thin copper wire is the feedback winding, and the secondary output is high voltage. In the transformer, two thick and thin copper wires are wound together, which are the main winding tail and the feedback winding head, respectively, connected to the positive pole of the power supply.
  • Before welding the transformer, it is necessary to scrape off the welded portion of the coating and the covered wire tip with a blade and then solder. After successful production, the transformer must be potted with epoxy or insulating wax for long-term use. The maximum output of the transformer is designed to be 15KV, and the maximum output must not exceed 15KV, which is 1.5cm arc.
  • The kit has an input voltage of 3.7V. That is, the voltage of the 18650 battery, if you need to increase the input voltage (maximum increase to 12V), you need to increase the resistance of the feedback resistor (package resistance is 120 ohms), otherwise the triode is easy to burn out. The feedback resistance is increased to approximately 150 to 1.5 K . Resistance should be adjusted from large to small. It should not be too small.

Description

Installation Notes: With the PCB board parts better production, in which the transformer line of thick line and thin line, this should pay attention to the other components by the board of silk symbols and parameters of welding on the line. Transformer board has done three pads, in which the middle of the pad hole is relatively large, the hole at the same time welding a thick enameled wire and a thin enameled wire, thick enameled wire and fine enameled wire do not use the same side, such as with the left Thick lines and the right side of the thin wire into or with the left side of the thin line and the right side of the thick line welding into, in short, do not use the same side of the thick lines and thin lines can be. In order to prevent the output 2-wire distance too far, resulting in no-load, you can weld a 3P pin at the output. After the success of the production, if the output access to a high-voltage capacitor and three high-voltage rectifier composed of voltage doubler circuit, you can produce DC high voltage, you can make anion generator, wiring diagram is as follows. Tips: If you are concerned about the quality of the components, please test them one by one before soldering. Once the solder is soldered, it is impossible to judge whether it is soldered or the component itself is bad. Please understand that!

  • simple medium-high voltage generator works
I received my order for the 15KV high voltage generator from Comidox and assembled it the next day. It does not come with instructions but it is a very simple circuit and I have reconstructed the schematic from the circuit board that was provided and in addition, I am supplying some tips and comments on construction. The key to the device is the stepup transformer with the secondary coil made of very thin wires providing the high voltage output thru red and blue insulated wires. In addition to the primary coil , there is a third winding of very thin magnet wire thatis the feedback winding that serves as input to the transistor (Q1) oscillator, connecting thru resistor, R1, and diode, D1, to the base of the transistor. Magnet wire is insulated thruout, and before assembly and soldering, clear off the insulation at the ends of the primary and feedback windings well wind sandpaper or steel wool so that solder can stick and a good connection will be made. Another critical step is polarity of the feedback signal from the feedback coil (coil with thinest wires for connection), To work at all , you need positive feedback so the transistor will oscillate and generate an AC input into the primary turn of transformer so it can be stepped up to high voltage. So if it doesn't work you may have to reverse/interchange your connections to the feedback coil. Now how do you know if it is working? taking an electric shock is NOT a safe way to find out. I have an oscilloscope so I can build a simple 1000:1 and even 10,000:1 resistor down divider to reduce the voltage and observe signal waveforms at a safe level. Another option is to connect a miniature neon bulb to a 1 Megohm resistor in series and see if the neon bulb lights up when connected across output Red and Blue leads of the HV generator. If you have good hearing at high audio frequencies , I found that that the HV generator makes a hum when operating properly when assembled using the 120 ohm resistor for R1 that is supplied. I think this hum is made by the transformer iron frame responding mechanically to AC current that must be generated . No hum could mean no AC current generated and you may have to reverse/interchange the feedback coil connections. One final comment. For my application- protecting some plants from small animal predators, I didn't need 15KV, and even 1 KV is more than enough so I am operating HV generator on only 3 volts supplied by batteries and increased my base resistor R1 to 680 ohms. reducing base current by increasing R1 , reduces HV output and also decreases power consumption and heat generated by HV generator circuit. It is safest to keep HV at the lowest value needed for your application. I hope this helps. ... show more

  • Makes high voltage if you put it together and take care of it correctly
The media could not be loaded. Make sure to put it together correctly and to power it with the correct voltage. You have to have a thick and a thin wire from the transformer and a thin wire at the side nearest to the transistor and a thick wire on the opposite side. You also have to have the high voltage lines close enough to initiate an arc. If they are too far apart, the transformer can start arcing internally and destroy itself. If the circuit does not work the first time, flip the thin wires, and it should work. The transistor also has a tendency to overheat because it only has a small heatsink, so don't leave it on for a long time unless you are actively cooling the transistor. The arc is very hot, and it quickly heats up the header pins, and can cause the plastic to melt, causing the high voltage wires to separate and destroy the transformer because it arcs internally. These kits are probably worth buying just for the transformers and to use the rest of the components for something else. I used the other transformer in a high voltage flyback converter, and it worked until the header pin plastic melted and the transformer arced internally. (I tried using epoxy to prevent it from arcing internally, but that did not fix it) I would recommend driving this with a mosfet instead of a bjt (but don't just replace the bjt with a mosfet in this circuit) ... show more

  • Assembled pictures below:
Ok, first let me say I am an electronics technician and I design, build, and solder every day. I figured this kit would be a cakewalk. I was incorrect. The ms-paint diagrams the seller had posted are not super useful. The schematic another reviewer posted was of much more use for myself. The thing all these reviews and the sellers description is missing are photos of the completed, properly wired generator. The first one I assembled would not work, regardless of polarity of the feedback winding or any other combo. I smoked the bjt (which the seller had kindly scrubbed of any identifying marks) on the first one while trying different configurations. In the end when I figured out the issue I was able to get it working with a bd139, but lead order is reversed so the transistor had to be installed "backwards". Regardless, that's not the point of this... The reason my first one would not work is that I had the transformer installed upside-down. Every transformer I've ever installed in any equipment was installed with the leads exiting the bobbin near the PCB. Not this one. Leads should exit the top and be wired as in my photos. Good luck! ... show more

  • Arrived broken, all parts thrown in a little baggie
No way will I be assembling this thing! The transformer wires were crushed together due to the included screw and/or heatsink in the package crushing the wire and/or the wire separators during shipping. The tape on the transformer was greasy and covered in someone else's dead skin & fingerprints. Instead of using glue, epoxy, etc., to secure the lead wires from the transformer, they melted the plastic in an attempt to keep them in place... it didn't work out so well. Not worth the money, IMHO. I'll be using the useful parts on other projects. ... show more

  • fun
the only thing that was lacking were good instructions. once I got the wiring on the fly back taps figured out it worked great. I also ended up adding a piece of plastic (cut a small square out of a milk jug and hot glued it to pcb) between the transformer and the mosfet heat sink as the secondary of the transformer was arcing to the heat sink. it works great, even lit a cigar with it! you might want to buy battery sled otherwise you just hold battery wires (not included either) to battery, kind of awkward but it works. ... show more

  • this kit does not include any diagram or instructions like they say.
this kit does not include any diagram or instructions like they say. thats why i bought this one, so got ripped off. just the silk screen is there to use. good luck! reversing the transformer wires will cause it not to work. take a picture of the diagram on the screen here.
