  • Easy to assemble, low SWR out of the box.
I assembled the antenna inside my house, (be sure and have plenty of room for a 22' antenna) and took it outside to a waiting tripod. Tightened it up, connected the coax, and headed for the station. Fired up the radio, amp and tuner, set an output of 15w on 3980khz to start, and keyed the mic expecting to hear the tuner click and whir away while it computed a decent SWR. I was happily surprised to see the SWR alternating between 1.1and 1.0 without any intervention by the tuner! Set up for 40m and got nearly the same results with an SWR of 1.3. Moving to 20m, the SWR dropped to a stock solid 1.0! The tuner never engaged. I have a limited space location and I was hesitant to try a vertical since in the past I'd always been a big fan of dipoles but this antenna has made a believer out of me! Well done, Comet! My only advice? Pay attention to the measurements of the tubing when assembling. A little time with a tape measure could save you a lot of time tuning the antenna later. ... show more

  • Works as Advertised - NICELY
Based on some online reviews that I came across - after ordering - I became a bit skeptical. However, this antenna IS easy to assemble (took 10 minutes +/-), and about another 15 minutes clamping to an existing DISH roof support - removing the Dish was a bit tedious. I have contacts in Argentina, Canada, Czech Republic, Columbia, Antigua, Estonia, St Kitts, Alaska, and multiple other US states. ICOM 7300 - 100 watts - no other equipment. What more needs to be stated- this antenna works as advertised. (just a quick update, added Serbia 5148 miles - with great audio report) ... show more

  • Expensive but darn well worth it...
This is the answer to the need for discreet but robust antenna install. It is full wave and tunes 1:1.4 at all the amateur bands [80-6M] with excellent signal reports. It is well built, easy to assemble, has quality stainless steel mounting hardware, is very quiet to QRM a long-wire horizontally polarized antenna would have trouble with. I am sold on this vertical. 73 ... show more

  • No trap Multi-band HF vertical
It seems to be a good antenna EXCEPT for 15 meters. I get good matches on most bands thru 6 meters.
