This lock is good build quality. Feels sturdy. But I bought it for daily use in a public space. And I found its the exact opposite of what I want. This lock is easy to use but has some catches to it. Once open you cant change the combo so if you want to lay it down either you need to lock it again or you need to be alone unless you want anyone in eyesite to know your code. A small but annoying problem. My main problem and reason for low rating is the lock changed the combination on its own! To set your own combination you have to put in the unlock code and then depress a button inside a small hole. Once you put in a new code you press the button again. Easy enough. Well using this lock everyday I had opened it and then tossed it on the seat of my vehicle and did my business and locked it back up and spun the numbers. Next day I came back and for 15 mintues I tried to open the lock and I couldn't. I decided to one by one start changing the numbers until it actually unlocked. Apparently when I lightly tossed it on my car seat it made a number rotate and somehow depressed a button inside the lock and then decompresed it as well. So it changed the combination by 1. (Example: 1234 to 1235) So if you plan on using this lock a lot with a lot of handling I wouldn't risk it because it might change the code on you. But if you are using it a couple times a year on something like a storage unit it would probably be fine. Just double check it didn't change on you. ... show more

Had a nice Sesame lock for a marine environment. It worked great until an idiot cut the lock. These have hardened hasps and should be more idiot resistant. For the cost, they seem like a great value and seem well made.
