UPDATE: I've been wearing this coat on colder days during December and it is perfect. It keeps me warm without being bulky or heavy. And it's so well made I'm sure it's going to last me a good many years. Get one if you need a warm coat without the bulk! I haven't actually worn this coat out yet, but it is exactly what I was looking for. The fit is great (2X), I like the color and the style, and it promises to be WARM. I like the length down below my hips and the pockets. Has an attached hood that is fleece lined which will be nice in coldest weather. I almost always have good luck with clothing from Amazon...in my opinion, it beats running around to stores. This coat did not disappoint at all. Try it if you want a lightweight coat that has plenty of features to keep you warm in cold weather.

I am 5'3 and 116lbs. I bought the Small so I can fit some warmer layers underneath. It actually is a very flattering jacket. A bit long on me (lands at just an inch or two above the knee). It is so lightweight, when I brought in the box, I thought there was no possible way a jacket fit in there. It's too warm here for me to tell if it's actually warm, but in a few weeks, I'll be testing it in Seattle's November. The hood is cozy and lined with nice fleece, and the sleeves were a good length for me - when I tried the heavenly short jacket, the sleeves were almost comically long. These land about mid-palm for me. I can't wait to wear it. I hope it packs up nice and small for my trip, and I will be eager to update how it goes. Overall, love this jacket (I wish it was a tiny bit shorter, but better too long than too short, right?) Edit: It was perfect for my trip! I went when it was 45-50 degrees and it kept me warm (perhaps even a bit too warm in certain settings, like being in the car, but that's not a downside) and it protected against windy weather super well. I wore a thick hoodie underneath and was very comfortable wherever I went. The hood is a bit small if you're wearing a beanie or a hoodie, but otherwise, I'd say it's a great jacket. My only gripe is that the arms aren't insulated as well as the rest of the jacket. When it began to drizzle I could feel the coldness of the rain on my arms, even though the rain didn't soak into the jacket.

I just received this coat the other day. I love how not bulky it is. I live in New England and need a warm coat but hate wearing them. This one seems like it will do a great job without making me look like a marshmallow. I have a work trip to Chicago soon and will be able to easily pack it without taking up half my luggage. It seems super warm and hopefully it is! I’m a curvy girl, usually wear a 16W and the 1x fit was great. I love the double zip as it lets me have a little more space in the hips for easier movement and sitting. The thumb holes are an added bonus to help keep my hands warm!!!

This is my 2nd time buying this jacket - got the first one about 6 years ago and it still looks brand new even with heavy use. Lost weight & back for a smaller size. Super lightweight but very warm, perfect length & the hood lining helps it "stick" to your hat to stay in place, and it's machine washable when needed. On exceptionally cold days I'll wear a fleece vest underneath for a bit of extra warmth. The coat is slimming with a more feminine shape and is super comfortable to wear. The only improvement I'd like to see is a drawstring to adjust the hood a bit tighter on windy days. Otherwise, I love everything about this.

Not for full on Northeast winter. Perfect for the Fall and some warmer Winter days with no wind. Not wind resistant, I don't like the hand glove thing and never use it. I am 5'3", and the arms are too long (medium). For Winter, you will have to wear layers underneath to keep fully warm. Zip keeps getting stuck like others have said. Not good enough for this price point.

Coat arrived today Very nice. Well made. Fits perfectly even with my fleece sketchers jacket underneath. I’m 5’5’ and weight 120. It hits me above the knees. Ordered the small. Supposedly super warm but it's very light and not bulky. The lining is not crinkly at all and it's soft. The hood is shaped nicely over my small head and lined with soft faux fur. Well worth it. Zippered pockets inside and out and sleeves are wind proof. What’s not to like.

I was hesitant to buy a coat this expensive (I paid $150) in a climate that rarely gets below 40°, but I’d had it with trying to play in snow comfortably with my kid in a pea coat. This coat is the most amazing thing ever. I literally logged on to Amazon just to leave this review. It is so warm, so lightweight, so comfortable, just amazing. The zippers are YKK, so high-quality, and almost invisible. Pockets and hood are warm and fuzzy, and the sleeves have thumb hole fabric extending out past the coat sleeve edges, so that you can eliminate the sliver of wrist between your glove and your coat sleeve that always seems to find snow. It squishes down small enough to fit in a regular backpack but comes down past my bottom and has a roomy, fuzz-lined hood. My only plea, and this is not specific to Columbia or this coat, is that more clothing manufacturers should acknowledge the existence of the petite plus-sized person. I love my coat, but I have to reach a bit to get to the pockets because it’s too long in the torso for me. I am 5’ tall and purchased a plus size because I need the plus cut more than I need the petite cut, but for this coat to have literally been the coat of my dreams, it would have been available in a petite plus size so the pockets would have been closer to where my hands fall. But in the search for a cute, warm, water-resistant, lightweight winter coat, far-away pockets are a small sacrifice. This coat is a miracle.

This jacket is mid-weight and perfect for winter. The hood is lined with minky. The pockets are lined with flannel not as soft as minky. Love the double zipper. A little pricey for the jacket.
