The Columbia Saturday Trail Pant is also durable and comfortable - roll-up legs allow you to go from pants to capris almost instantly; the gusset detail, comfort stretch, and articulated knees provide you with a personalized fit. Columbia offers our women's outdoor pants in multiple staple colors, sizes and inseams. To ensure the size you choose is just right, please refer to our sizing chart. • Saturday Trail Pant VS other styles including capris (Just Right) and Aruba
Color: Grill Size: 18 Plus
I purchased the Just Right capri, the Aruba capri and the Saturday Trail Capri in identical sizes. I also order the Saturday Trail pant and Anytime Outdoor boot cut pant. There is quite a bit of difference in fit. With this garment I see in the listing that it talks about how the different styles are cut. That should be in ALL the listings and not just in some of them. It should also be clearly stated how the particular garment you are looking at falls in that chart. The Just Right capri is much looser in the waist and leg when compared to the Saturday Trail knee pant. They are not baggy, just not as close to the skin. Definitely a more relaxed feel. They are also a few inches longer. The Saturday Trail comes midway across my knee cap, the Just Right capri come a good 2-4 inches below my knee. I like both and will keep both, however the Saturday Trail is a bit tight at the waist and as there is no give in the waistband or the ability to custom size by having snaps in several locations along the waist band, I had better not gain any weight! They have a more athletic look to them. The Saturday Trail line of knee pants and longs pants can NOT be "dressed up" as it really looks athletic with a fit very close to the body. The Saturday Trail knee pant has an adjustable stretchy elastic through the bottom which you can slide to make it completely closed against the leg or leave open/relaxed where you then have in my case at least a couple inches or so loose. As that piece (which I can't for the life of me remember the name of it right now) is outside the hem, it is visible when worn and gives a very casual sporty look to the Saturday trail capri. I had ordered the Aruba pant that could be rolled up to a capri length that was said to run small so order one size larger. It did fit around the waist but was so baggy around the butt and particularly around my legs that it looked terrible. Only if overall the cut is a size too small or size to big can going up/down work for you. When it is just the waist which is small and the remainder is cut a size too big it makes for a terrible fit. If you are built with larger hips and legs and a small waist I recommend the Aruba otherwise the fit just won't work for you. The other issue with the Aruba is it had only an exterior button to hold the cuff in place so the inside of the leg kept coming unrolled (especially since it was already too large in the leg). So if you are looking for pants that turn into capris I would recommend the Saturday Trail Pant. Yes it runs slimmer just as the knee pants do, but when rolled up it fits closer to your leg and has buttons on both the inseam and outside seam to hold the cuff in place. I really appreciate the versatility that having the capacity to wear as either a long pant or a capri that the Saturday Trail pant provides. When cuffed it looks like it was intended to be that way as opposed to looking like you just rolled up a pair of long pants! I had also ordered the Just Right long pant in a boot cut. I loved the fit, not as tight as the Saturday Trail around the waist and not as close to the body over all. But a boot cut without wearing a boot just looks a bit silly! I tried them on with sandals and from the side they looked great but from the front and back they looked "bell" shaped on the bottom as a result of the boot cut which is really not flattering on most women. If I end up wearing these in the fall and winter, I can see going back and getting one with a boot cut as I have so man pairs of boots. Unlike the Saturday Trail, the Just Right long pant doesn't really work well as a rolled up capri so you loose that bit of versatility. The first two pairs of Columbia pants I purchased were at Marshalls and I paid no attention to the name of them. When I went to get more I had to order one of most styles to find the pant which came closer to the ones I purchased last year which must have been discontinued. (If you know how to find the style number/name from interior tags let me know please!) While I have not tired other companies versions of the Columbia bottoms, I tend to be brand loyal when I find one which is so well made, which washes well, fits well and will last for more than one season. I can't compare to the Eddie Bauer for example because the Columbia ones while more expensive had performed so well that I had no interest in trying them. I would be interested in reviews which compare other manufacturers pants for future reference but for now I am sticking with Columbia, they are simply that good. HOPE THIS HELPS! And to all the buyers who leave detailed reviews THANK YOU. I always look at the customer reviews on Amazon because they are generally so well done ... show more

  • The waist does not stretch
Color: British Tan Size: 16 Plus Short
I love the way the size 16 fit me like a pair of leggings. However I can't wear them because the waistband doesn't stretch. Size 18 fits but is too loose on my body. The 16 plus are okay but don't hug my body as well as the regular 16 and are also almost unwearable because the waistband doesn't stretch. ... show more

  • Great fabric and style, runs small
Color: Black Size: 10
Fabric, style and length great and I liked the way they fit but they do run small. I fit in the 10 and usually wear an 8 (10 is very fitted). If you want a looser fit to hike in, definitely size up.

  • These Run SMALL!
Color: Black Size: 10
I am very typically a Sz 6 with an 28in waist. I had to end up buying a size 10 in these pants. They run one size small at least and then the rise is very tight. Hopefully you get the idea. The 10 is a bit loose and some colors fit tighter than others, but that is just a luck of the draw type thing. Many orders and returns to finally land on a Black Size 10 that would work. ... show more

  • Slim fit, upsize at least one maybe two sizes
Color: Black Size: 12 Short
The pants I received were way too small. I have multiple Columbia pants and ordered my usual size. They were 1-2 full sizes too small. The tag says “slim fit” so guess that is why.
