  • Hiked a glacier and walked around Iceland!!
Size: 8 Color: Cordovan, Crown Jewel
I bought these for a trip to Iceland and they didn't need to even be broken in. Super comfortable, great ankle support, beautiful color, and most importantly: ACTUALLY WATERPROOF! They are true to size and have lasted through many hikes after my trip as well and don't show any signs of wear. Love them. ... show more

  • 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Comfortable, Durable, and Perfect for Any Trail!
The Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Hiking Boots have quickly become my go-to choice for outdoor adventures! These boots strike the perfect balance between comfort, durability, and style, making them ideal for both casual hikes and more rugged terrain. Right out of the box, they felt incredibly comfortable with no break-in period needed. The lightweight design means I can wear them for hours without feeling weighed down, and the cushioned insole provides great support, even on longer hikes. Plus, the waterproof feature has been a game-changer—I've hiked through puddles, rain, and mud, and my feet stayed completely dry. The grip on these boots is fantastic too. Whether I’m hiking uphill on rocky terrain or navigating slippery trails, they’ve provided excellent traction and stability. Not to mention, they’re stylish enough to wear around town after the hike! If you're looking for a reliable, comfortable, and waterproof hiking boot, the Columbia Newton Ridge boots are an outstanding choice. They’ve exceeded all my expectations and have kept my feet happy on every adventure. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Amazing game changer for hiking!
Size: 10 Color: Quarry, Cool Wave
This is my very first pair of hiking boots ever and I was looking for something high quality with a reasonable price point! These checked all of the boxes. I even wore these in the snow. They kept my feet dry and warm through the snowy cascade mountain pass of Washington state. They are also super comfortable and caused me no pain to break in. Bonus points for being super stylish. I cannot say enough good things about these boots. Just buy them!! Maybe go half a size down or wear them with thick wool socks cause they do seem to run a bit big. ... show more

  • Outstanding boots if you get the right size
Size: 10 Wide Color: Quarry, Cool Wave
It took me 5 pairs before I finally got the right size for these. Most Columbia boots run small and narrow. I know this because I own two different types of Columbia snow boots. They are the only brand I wear for snow/winter for the last 20 - 30 years. I bought these assuming they would also run small, big mistake. If you buy the right size, when you put these on, you won’t want to take them off because they are that comfortable. I normally wear 9-9.5 medium width shoes. I purchased a 10 wide, a half size up from my usual shoe size range, to allow for my feet to have plenty of room with hiking socks and because the toes are on my right feet do not lay flat like my left foot. Your toes should not feel squished in any shoe. I got wide because Columbia are usually on the narrow side. My left foot is a medium width (almost narrow) and my right foot is medium width (almost wide). I also purchased Columbia hiking socks which feel amazing in these boots. Quarry is a very pretty grey color with black, light grey and blue accents. Such a pretty color combination. I will be wearing these to walk our dog on the trails in our neighborhood, which I do daily and are often swampy and even flooded in some areas. I was previously using my Brooks Ghost sneakers but too often coming home with mud, wet socks and saturated shoes. We mostly do trails but also mix in some sidewalk walking, so I needed a shoe that would be good on both. I will come back to update my review should they not work well. Super excited to wear them tomorrow on our morning walk through the woods. Update: 2/20/23 I wore these yesterday for a 3 mile walk/hike through trails and on sidewalks walking a dog. They felt great while walking. I did notice that when I took them off, that my one hammer toe had redness from the top of the boots while walking but I never felt this while on the walk. A few hours later and my left knee has some strange pain while going up or down stairs. Next thing I noticed was some lower back pain and pain at the balls of both feet when I woke up this morning. Not sure that I will be wearing these often, maybe only on rainy days, but even then, I am not sure that the pain is worth it. I do have psoriatic arthritis in my knees but this pain is different, so I must have aggravated my knee somehow while wearing these hiking shoes. Debating on returning them because my brooks sneakers work great but I was specifically looking for waterproof and ankle support while on the trails. Update: 2/28/23 I have worn these again and had success, no knee or back pain afterward. Not my favorite shoe for walking our dog on sidewalks and not as comfortable as my Brooks but they are waterproof and are saving me in the trails right now. ... show more

  • Length is true to size for me...👍
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Elk, River Blue
This boot is true to size... I originally followed other reviews that suggested to go a half size up. WRONG move for me. I then exchanged it for my true size, and the length was perfect. After using it for some time, this shoe is comfortable and of good quality. Traction is really good; seams are well stitched (double-stitched); colors are stylish. So far as being waterproof-- I was in a little but of rain, it held watertight. (But I wasn't able to test it through streams or puddles, yet.) Note 1: I did swap out the sole for one with an arch support-- as that makes a huge difference in my hikes. I do thisbfor all my shoes... Note 2: The ankles are extra-padded. It looks a bit bulky at first, but I know they'll flatten a bit-- and they're meant to protect my ankles from impact (from falls, or getting stuck in rocks, etc.) I do wish they made these in a taller height (maybe 8 inches) so I can feel a sturdier ankle support-- especially during strenuous hikes. However, as a day-hike boot-- and-- for the great fit and value of these, I have to say that I'm loving them! ❤️ Columbia is my favorite brand for boots.... They still put out their great quality! ... show more

  • Great investment!
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Cordovan, Crown Jewel
I bought these for a trip to Oregon and was so thankful I did. I am not someone who hikes very often, but for my first pair of hiking boots they did the job well. I didn’t need to wear them in, and they are so comfortable! I hiked about 35 miles in these within the first week through rocky, dusty, and all types of terrain with high elevation gain. I wore hiking or thick socks with them as well. I kept thinking how happy I was that I had made the investment, considering how regular sneakers would have been rough. They were true to size and I got wide because of my flat feet which can be an issue, but surprisingly was not. These are great quality with great support and I am so happy I went with these. I can’t wait to use them more! ... show more
