  • Lightweight and floats.
Nice fishing net that is lightweight. It’s easy to stow and it floats. Good grip and lanyard means you won’t lose it wade fishing. Nice color too. Five stars!

  • It has better capability than capacity
I was actually surprised at how strong the handle is on this net. It will hold 5 pounds with very little noticeable bend in the handle. I'm not sure how well a 5 pound fish will fit in the netting since I haven't caught anything that big since I got the net. I guess he'll just be sticking out a little. But I know this net works very well for smaller fish. And the floating feature is certainly true; it floats quite well. Overall, good quality net. ... show more

  • Compact landing net
This net folds up nicely when not in use and is easy to travel with. I mostly fish from the banks, hiking lakes and rivers in the Sierras. So the more compact the gear I carry, the better. This feels like a good compromise to me. Most of my other compact nets are just that. They are compact with fixed length handles and are too small to use effectively, especially when fishing alone as I normally do. Once unfolded, it is sturdy enough to handle any fish I catch. The handle extends enough for me to maneuver the fish into the net one handed. One hand on the rod, guiding the fish toward the net, other hand with the net waiting to receive the fish. Sure, it would be easier if a second person was handling the net, but rarely does another person want to hike along a river through thick brush with me for several hours and if they think they do, they regret it soon after. So I mostly make due with what I can carry in a backpack which this fits in fairly easily. I'm catch and release mainly, occasionally targeting certain species to eat. And using a landing net helps reduce the likelihood on incidental(and likely fatal) injury to fish. Most don't survive being dragged onto the bank and beating themselves on rocks/sticks/dirt/sand even if they seem lively at the time of release, a lot of them die due to injuries caused by dragging them onto the bank. With this net, most of the time I don't even need to completely remove them from the water or handle them to remove hooks and release them. So overall, I don't have any complaints about this net. It's light, compact when folded(fits into my backpack), easy to handle while also handling a rod and doesn't cause any unnecessary injury to fish. Are there better nets on the market that do all this? Probably, but the price point is right for me and it suits my needs. Does it float as advertised? I'm not sure since I don't routinely throw my gear into the water. For boating, tubing, kayaking, etc. this might be important. But as someone who fishes from the bank 99% of the time it isn't. If it isn't in my hand landing a fish, then it is normally propped against a tree or rock/boulder. ... show more

  • Awesome fishing net!
This thing is so nice. Folds up while not using and flips open quickly as soon as you need it. So easy to use and so easy to take with you.

  • lightweight and relatively strong
As an avid fisherman, I keep a few things in my truck because I never know when I'm gonna find a body of water and have a few extra minutes. I added this little net to my 'truck kit' because it's small, lightweight, but it's relatively strong. The telescoping function is easy to manage and holds well when extended. This is not a product I'm putting in my boat; there are better products for that, but as far as an easy to carry option for backpacking or keeping in your truck, this is fits the bill. ... show more

  • Perfect for surf/wade fishing
I'm a Gulf of Mexico wade/surf speckled trout fisherman. My set-up is a rubber car innertube with a nylon laundry bag suspended in the middle. The extra floatation over the Styrofoam retail versions allows me to lay my old baitcasting reel out of and above the water while I unhook fish. My old aluminum landing net with the handle filled with spray foam for flotation is falling apart and needed replacement. Still waiting on the water to warm up, so I tested it in my freshwater koi pond, and it remained on the surface after trying to drown it. Salt water will provide even greater buoyance. I normally lay the net across the top of the innertube, secured with a lanyard, ready for the catch. On windy/wavy days the net will sometimes end up in the water, the reason I needed for it to float. The handle folds and allows me to store compactly with my innertube which for longevity I like to keep inflated. Because of its design, it is a one-way scoop, and not two-way like my old net where the net material will fall back and forth through the frame. I don't think this will be a problem. It is the perfect size for my speck fishing and the occasional flounder and maybe a big red. The handle can be extended, but for my style of fishing I like it short. Solid construction and the plastic-coated nylon mesh should last for years. ... show more

  • Highly portable
This well-designed folding net is highly compact when folded, enabling convenient storage. Its durability makes it suitable for capturing various fish species of different sizes. The net's coating minimizes hook snags and reduces potential harm to the fish. The overall weight and performance of this folding net are exceptional, making it a worthwhile investment. ... show more

  • Good bass and panfish net
Took a little practice to get the hang of folding and unfolding it, but overall this is a good net. Too small to land most northerns and muskies, but works well for smaller species.
