What they don't tell you, here or on the Columbia.com website, is that the Kruser Ridge III jacket has a low-pile fuzzy lining that is bonded to the outer fabric. It is not a separate layer. It looks like a fine polar fleece or sweatshirt lining. This will make it warmer than if it was just a single layer of knit polyester. That can have its own pros and cons, depending on the temperature outside and one's needs or expectations. Also the fit is a bit snug. I fall right between the Medium and Large sizes. My three other Columbia jackets are all Mediums and they have enough room for sweaters. This jacket does not. I love that Columbia sleeves are longer than other brands. For this reason, I have several jackets made by them. Their products wash well and hold up well over time. I'm, giving it four stars based on my prior experience with the brand and the fact that the fleecy type inside isn't disclosed anywhere.

The fit is true to size. It has a nice liner inside, I don't know what the fabric is called. That furry , wooly kind of material? Anyway, the jacket is much warmer thanI expected. I have long arms and the sleeves fit me perfectly. This Columbia soft shell jacket is stylish, well made, with a nice sturdy zipper.

Columbia is truly a great brand and this jacket is no exception. It's not bulky yet offers the warmth of a big puffy jacket. I ended up going a size up and I wish I hadn't. This jacket is true to size even if you plan to layer under it. It is pricy, but worth the money especially if you live in a wet and chilly climate. You can not go wrong with the solid build of a quality piece of outerwear and this jacket is worth every penny.

I love this jacket! It is true to size and fits perfectly. It’s not too baggy or too tight, it’s a perfect flattering fit. The sleeves are a good length, and the overall length is ideal too. It has a nice soft lining, and the outside is waterproof and great at blocking wind. It’s the perfect jacket for those between season days where it’s cool but not cold enough for a thick coat. It’s also nice and light and not bulky, so it’s great to travel with. You could easily layer under or over it depending on your needs. This will definitely get a lot of use!
