I bought a similar/older version of this coat in 2019 that i have loved and is honestly still in wonderful condition for being tucked and toted everywhere and washed more times than i can count. However, said jacket was becoming more snug and i was forced to upgrade. This time i went with the longer version with a hood because, well, im getting older and colder. I went up a size and can comfortably wear layers under if need be. I normally wear an XL womens top, L unisex tshirt, L/XL crewneck sweatshirts and went with a 2XL this time around for this coat. I love this coat. I bought it to replace the one just like it I have had for 5-6 years. They both fit the same but the new one I just bought has a faux fur lining in the hood. I wear a packable jacket under it with a fleece jacket. I am always cold and I live in Maine. It is a nice length to sit on in the car, and when I go out walking. I am 5'8" and small chested. I just received this coat the other day. I love how not bulky it is. I live in New England and need a warm coat but hate wearing them. This one seems like it will do a great job without making me look like a marshmallow. I have a work trip to Chicago soon and will be able to easily pack it without taking up half my luggage. It seems super warm and hopefully it is! I’m a curvy girl, usually wear a 16W and the 1x fit was great. Mine arrived today and first impression is very good! I got the 2X and it fits perfectly! I'm 5'4" and it hits right at my knees. Seems very well made too. It hasn't been that cold yet here to wear, but I think it will do the job in keeping me warm!

Not for full on Northeast winter. Perfect for the Fall and some warmer Winter days with no wind. Not wind resistant, I don't like the hand glove thing and never use it. I am 5'3", and the arms are too long (medium). For Winter, you will have to wear layers underneath to keep fully warm. Zip keeps getting stuck like others have said. This is my 2nd time buying this jacket - got the first one about 6 years ago and it still looks brand new even with heavy use. Lost weight & back for a smaller size. Super lightweight but very warm, perfect length & the hood lining helps it "stick" to your hat to stay in place, and it's machine washable when needed. On exceptionally cold days I'll wear a fleece vest underneath for a bit of extra warmth. The coat is slimming with a more feminine shape and is super comfortable to wear. I like Columbia! Columbia coats run like 2 sizes smaller than other coats. I usually wear a size XL and I ordered a 1X and it fits great. I live in MN and this coat would work well for fall, early winter & early spring. I don't think it will be warm enough for winter. But a nice car coat.
