This is a very nice jacket that is really warm. Its constructed to hug close to your body to keep drafts out and warmth in. That said, it does fit close but not necessarily tight - I ordered a 2X and it hugged me a little closer than I would like; I felt like I looked like a bowling ball. NOT the fault of the jacket - Its well constructed and the color is pretty. I'm returning this for a larger size, simply due to personal preference. Very nice jacket, and I want to wear it as a jacket. So, I would recommend sizing up if you like it as a jacket. I am typically a small or a medium 5’4” 110 lbs and I ordered a medium . It fits but didn’t feel that comfortable with a larger shirt or sweater underneath…. I do live in Maine so layers are necessary. I bought a second in large and that one is more my “jacket”. I was replacing my old Columbia Women's Full Zip which I had for about 10 years. It finally needed a replacement! The new version is much thicker and fits better than the previous version. I was wearing a "large," which was OK, but at the time I bought it, the Medium seemed too small. This medium is a very generous version in size. The fabric also seems thicker and warmer. These are awesome full zip Columbia sweatshirts!! I've been wearing one almost daily during cold weather for many years now! They do slowly shrink some if they're put in a dryer on Medium heat weekly. Its nothing drastic but there is a marked difference after a season of washing & drying weekly. The best part about these for me is that they have 2 large exterior zippered pockets AND 2 large Interior pockets which are very deep!! I'm handicapped so I use a walker & sometimes just a cane. But that means my hands are always full! I can't carry my phone, my inhalers, my keys, my medicines etc etc without pockets so I stuff them!! So far, I've yet to lose anything as the outside pockets have sturdy & smooth zippers & the inside pockets are so wide & deep that nothing has ever fallen out! They're relatively warm ( I often only wear a short sleeved T shirt under mine during winter and a sweater during snow or cold rains) and they last years so you really do get what you're paying the higher price for! I've managed to buy mine on sale so I've not paid more than $35 on Amazon. Of course, the pretty colors all cost more but being disabled means I survive below poverty level so I'm extremely happy with my standard Grey, black & navy blue! Tonight there's a gorgeous shade of a lighter blue on a Lightening Deal but sadly, no money until next month so I've 2 weeks to wait until I can mostly just pay the bills! LoL. If you've never bought one of these, I'd be truly shocked if you were dissatisfied with the purchase. Also, if you choose to wear these as a jacket (or you've reason to stuff the pockets!), buy a size up so it'll be more roomy. Otherwise, they run pretty true to size. Great product!!! ... show more

I was looking for a lightweight jacket that would work for the cool weather of Spring and Fall. I am 5'2" and usually wear an X-Small or Small in a t-shirt depending on the brand. In most jeans, I wear a size 1. I really liked the burgundy color in this jacket, so I ordered a size small. Although the small fit, I didn't think it would work as a jacket - wanted something a bit looser. So, I decided to order this jacket in a medium. The replacement fit more like a jacket, which is what I wanted. I returned the size small and kept the medium. The pictures are me in the size medium. When choosing size to buy, there are a couple of things to consider. If you plan to wear it as a light jacket over a t-shirt, your normal size will work fine - especially if you plan to leave it unzipped. The sleeves are not snug at all and a little long for me, but fit comfortably with elastic at the wrist. The inside pockets are large enough to carry a cell phone, a checkbook, or a wallet. If you plant to wear this as a jacket and especially if you plan to keep anything in the inside pockets while zipped, it would be a good idea to order one size up. Anything in the pockets will show bulges on the outside if you order your normal size and zip the jacket. It isn't fitted at the waist, but that's one of the things I like about it. When it isn't zipped, it doesn't flare out around the hips. The jacket also has a drawstring at the bottom if you want to pull it in at the hips. So, what do I love about this jacket? 1) Very soft and lightweight, yet warm. 2) Can be worn as a jacket for chilly weather outdoors or inside in the winter when the house is cool. 3) Has 2 zippered pockets on the outside large enough to keep a wallet or small essentials. 4) Has 2 deep pocket on the inside to carry a cell phone checkbook, wallet, or other items of similar size. 5) It doesn't have a hood which can get in the way if you have long hair, and really isn't necessary indoors or in mild weather. 6) The collar stays down and does not have to be up around the neck. 7) The zipper works great and is not at all stiff or hard to zipper. I initially bought the Bark color, which is dark brown, to figure out the size I liked best. Since I like this jacket so much, I put 4 more colors on my wish list for Christmas - rich wine (burgundy), charcoal heather (dark grey), burnt orange (can't find color name), and a medium grey (can't find color name). My husband bought all of them probably thinking I would return a couple of them. I love them all and they go with different outfit colors. So I kept them all. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this jacket. I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update it if my opinion changes. ... show more
