I bought this jacket to serve primarily as a lightweight windbreaker for when I play cold weather golf and to wear over other clothing. I wore it this morning in 40 degree temperature and it worked perfectly. I like the fact that you can tighten the wrists and bottom hem so that wind doesn't enter. I also like that when you zip it up the collar stands up and blocks wind off your neck. I wear 2X shirts and this 2X jacket was loose enough so that I when wore a golf shirt and a sweater under it and it did not bind or inhibit my swing. Based on one use it was a good purchase.

The media could not be loaded. I really like this jacket. I bought it for my trip to Costa Rica. I need something flight weight but to keep the rain off me. The jacket was great for the rain and wind. I love the deep pockets with the zippers so I would lose anything, it was functional for a rain forrest. The quality is great, it held up to the elements. It was easy to pack away and use. I bought it on sale the value for money was unbeatable. The style black and gray are colors classic so you can’t go wrong. I bought it because my son also has one and his works like a charm.

There is no waterproofing behind the embroidered logo and the velcro adjustment straps, and the actual waterproofing on the fabric is suspect as well. Water leaked through within minutes of first use in rain. This is far below Columbia's usual standard for gear, leading me to conclude this is an imitation and not a genuine Columbia product. If it is genuine, how did something with this many defects in the design this make it past QA testing? In no way is this jacket suitable for all levels of rain as advertised when the logo, velcro, and fasteners all pierce through the watertight layer and have no backing or sealant behind them. I'm sorry that the area I live in had an unusual dry spell that lasted longer than the return period and I am now stuck with this. Buy something else, this jacket will not perform as advertised.

This really wasn’t for me. It’s too lightweight. IMO, just a poncho with a brand. It keeps the water off you so I guess it does its job. Water will get through that zipper on the one that was delivered to me. I did t see the value. Gifted to someone who love it.
