It's a rain and stain resistant jacket that efficiently retains your body heat and is one of the warmest, softest, and lightest jackets we make. The Turbodown insulation works in concert with our breathable heat reflective interior, to create a lightweight performance jacket. Zippered side pockets keeps things secure and handy, while an internal security pocket keeps extra important items safe. The water resistant fabric, with a drawcord adjustable hem, as well as snug binding at the cuffs all work to keep you warm and protected during most anything Fall and Winter can dish out. This cold-weather coat comes in multiple colors and sizes. Available in extended sizing. Regular Fit. This is an excellent coat that works for me down to around freezing. As a guy who has owned many down jackets, the Columbia breathes remarkably well and is very light weight. For most days when it warms up to around 40 or so, it is my goto jacket. But I also have a Columbia Powderlite II that is a little heavier, breathes very well, and I'd take it down to upper 20s or so. The Powderlite is a little longer than the VooDoo Falls. I spent a lot of time comparing different Columbia jackets (Powder Lite, Delta Ridge, etc.) and I am so glad I went with the Voodoo Falls 590. For the price, the value here is unbeatable. Here is why this jacket is a winner: • The Insulation: The "TurboDown" is a game-changer. It combines real down with synthetic insulation, meaning you get that ultra-lightweight, squishy, premium down feel, but it holds up better if you get caught in a light drizzle. • Omni-Heat Tech: The silver dots on the inside aren't a gimmick. They reflect your body heat immediately. You can step out into the freezing cold and feel warm almost instantly without needing bulky layers underneath. • The Fit: It has a great profile—not too puffy like the Michelin Man, but tailored enough to look good around the city while still functioning great on a hike. • Weight: It packs down surprisingly small and weighs practically nothing. This jacket keeps me warm even on very cold days. The coat seems to be well constructed. It is a very warm coat for such a thin set of material. It is almost as warm as my heavy Carhartt jacket that is easily 2-3 times the bulk. It fits well, even for guys with a bit of a gut. The only drawback is that the outer shell is very “slick” and wearing a backpack with one strap is difficult as it wants to slide off the jacket. ... show more
