  • Very comfortable and not too heavy!
Size: 11 Color: Graphite/Creek
My husband has worn these many times and says they get more comfortable each time. They aren’t too heavy and look great too. He wore them to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico and you know if you have ever been you’re walking at a slope for miles going down into the cave. He said his feet didn’t hurt one bit after. Definitely would recommend! ... show more

  • A nice boot that can endure very rough terrain
Size: 11 Color: Graphite/Creek
I wore these on a recent trip to Galapagos and Machu Picchu. I was so glad to have the additional support around my ankles. I walked over very rough lava rock and these boots had great grip. I never slipped in these even on wet rocks. I looked at the soles and they were not chewed up by the sharp lava rock. At home, I washed them and the removable insoles. They don't seem to have any odor issues. I found that light socks are the most comfortable. Heavier socks give a snugger fit, which I find uncomfortable if I'm sitting for long periods, e.g. on a plane. Putting them on and removing require you to loosen the top half of the laces. They tie neatly, but require you to do a final knot with the loops to keep them from dragging on the ground. They stayed tied and snug during hours of hiking. These are light boots, and water tight. The color I chose is great, and I think these are a great buy for the occasional hikes. ... show more

  • Like so much I bought a backup pair
Size: 13 Color: Graphite/Creek
I really like these light and very comfortable shoes . These required no break in and were comfortable right out of the box which is very rare . After wearing them about a month with no problems I bought another pair for backup for when these wear out or break down which ever comes first. They say waterproof on the outside of the back of the heel and they are in fact waterproof as I have found out . I'm not a hiker but I wear them for everything else and am very satisfied with them and recommend them . UPDATE; I've been wearing these shoes for 10 months now which even included a Vermont winter and have found them to be a great boot , Still waterproof and going strong . No rips or frays but the tread on the soles are wearing down but I'm wearing them daily and will until I see a reason to dump them and put on the spare pair that I bought because I like them so much. ... show more

  • Overall great! Minor comfort issues.
Size: 10.5 Color: Nori/Black
I work for a plant nursery where I'm on my feet 8+ hours a day, and there's water EVERYWHERE. Naturally, when looking for shoes, I look for something comfortable and waterproof. Overall, these are excellent for exactly what I'm using them for! They're quite comfortable on my feet, and so far the only water that has gotten into them is when I spill water into them through the top. Moving about on wet/muddy surfaces, I have had no issues with traction. They're about a half size too small. I ordered my typical size, and my toes are a little crammed in. With wear, they've loosened up a *little* and I expect they will continue to do so. Where the laces go through the ankle section, they pull the neck of the shoe closed in a way that digs into my leg and makes it hard to put the shoe on and off. Not using the very top eyelet on the ankle resolved both issues, though this means they don't have as much ankle support as they are probably supposed to provide. I wanted VERY badly to give them a 5, but I think the size and the comfort issues merit losing a star. They're not perfect, but they're pretty darn close. ... show more

  • Falls apart, not waterproof, heavy, thick foam, constricts not supports ankle. RIP OFF
Size: 10 Color: Graphite/Creek
They began to flake and tear IMMEDIATELY so they lost any “waterproofing” they are also very thick foam and earned me the nickname “paddle foot” I took a gamble on these and I lost. Columbia is very difficult 4-6 weeks before you can get money back on warranty. And I HAVE TO PAY TO SHIP THESE BROKEN SHOES AND “CLEAN THEM” I’m FURIOUS! WHAT SHOES AM I GOING TO WEAR?!? I cannot afford to buy new shoes after blowing the whole wad on shoes that blew out within DAYS Well I bought some cheap ones from target that are blowing these out of the water (and actually waterproof for less than half of what these cost) The tips started to peel off very quickly, and I started bringing grass into my house and my cat ate it. It also is VERY heavy foam. They look and say lightweight, but compared to say Salomon, they are HEAVY. The foam is hot, and they do NIT support your ankle, instead the way it is constructed, it has on tight spot around the top of the ankle and nothing rigid underneath and that digs into you ankle like tying a stri g around your ankle. The tips peel off, causing a trip hazard and get filled with crap, and as those peel off you will get crack on the toe because the material is brittle and not at all flexible. These are by far the most expensive BAD “boots” I have ever purchased. We will see if I can get my money back. I have my doubts. Maybe I might get some “store credit” so I can enjoy another pair of god awful footwear only to have to buy another pair a couple weeks later. Customer service has been EXTREMELY unhelpful. I am simply out 100 bucks and a pair of shoes. If you’re going to wear maybe 2 hours a day to look outdoorsy, sure. If your trying to buy shoes to use as shoes… BUY SOMETHING ELSE! ... show more

  • Love these so much
Size: 10.5 Color: Graphite/Creek
I bought these expressly for a recent hiking trip that was both rigorous and wet. They performed very well. I know these shoes say “waterproof,” as do thousands of other pairs, but I never fully expect that to be the case. By-and-large, these did seem to be waterproof, at least until I had water spill over the top cuff of the shoe. They are very definitely water resistant. More importantly, they are immensely comfortable. They feel like snug slippers that wrap around and protect my feet. They have a pretty good grip. I will say that they are better suited for trails than roads. I more recently walked about 8 miles on pavement—(don’t ask)—and while they were comfortable, my feet were getting warm by the end. There were also some odd pressure points at various points on my feet, probably due to the aforementioned snugness. Here’s the TLDR version: I’ll probably buy a backup pair of these, because I love them, especially at the under $50 price point. ... show more
