Wow, I knew Columbia made great stuff, but this one is on top of the Columbia list for me. It checks off all the boxes for what you’d want in a nice warming jacket. This jacket is lightweight so it’s perfect for cooler evening walks or pretty much anything outside. For full snow I always go with my Columbia snow gear though. Okay, what makes this jack perfect you ask? Well, it is really good looking - from the color to how it’s put together it imbues high quality. It couldn’t be more comfortable - from the felt lined zippered pockets to the fabric of the insulated fabric this is one smooth jacket. It just feels great having it on. The warmth factor is also really good considering how lightweight it is. I think Columbia have attained the perfect balance of form, factor, and real-world use in a jacket. It’s also machine washable so that makes things easier for taking care of it. The material repels water (not waterproof, but perfect for light precipitation) and it repels stains too. I am an XL and that’s what I ordered and it fits me perfectly so I consider their sizing options realistic and correct. I can’t say enough about how much I love this jacket. I look forward to the cooler temperatures so I can wear this. Heck, I’m already wearing it because I love it so much. Absolutely a strong wholehearted recommend for anyone wanting a supreme quality warming jacket that is of exceptional quality.

For the sake of full discretion, I have to admit that I love Colombia. I have owned many winter coats from Colombia over the years, and much of their clothing as well. So, though I may be a little biased, I will try to give as honest a review as I possibly can. This Columbia jacket is a great jacket for cool weather, like you might start to get in late fall. Depending on where you live, it could be considered a decent winter jacket, though I wouldn't say that it's insulated enough to hold up on its own to very cold temperatures. If you are layering however, then I suppose it could act as a good shell for some nice fleece or wool sweaters during very cold temperatures. As usual, the jacket is well made, with no suspect stitching, and excellent fabrication quality. It's comfortable to wear, and I chose a size large for my frame. To put that in perspective, I'm 5 foot 11 and 195 lbs, and it fit me nicely. I'd even say that it may have been a little large, which I don't mind for a jacket like this, because I'm usually wearing it over a thick sweater. When you have a sweater, or a fleece underneath, it's nice to have a little bit of extra space in the jacket. I would have liked to have had the Omni heat system, but this one doesn't have that. All in all, it's a solid jacket from Colombia that would hold up to lots of different weather conditions. The style is more of a regular fit, and I would have preferred the overall style of a slimmer fit, but that is subjective. I'd still very much recommend this jacket, and the Columbia brand in general.

I highly recommend this jacket. Columbia is already a fairly reputable name, so I shouldn't have to say much. This is very lightweight, and has no trouble helping keep you warm during those cold/windy days.

Columbia, of course, is a well-known, respected brand. I have all sorts of other Columbia items in my arsenal. But this is actually my first bit of cold-weather gear. Uh, maybe because I live in tropical Florida? :) But even down here, it can get chilly in the winter. In fact every couple years or so, it can dip down to freezing. Naturally, when that happens we bundle up to ridiculous extents. This Swiftguide jacket is absolutely perfect for the job. First, it runs just slightly large for its size - crucial if you plan on layering. Even if you don't, the jacket is comfortable without binding movements. Second, its insulation (recycled poly) is quite effective. Even though the jacket is not bulky, it cuts wind and warms with the best of them. Third, all 3 pockets are zippered. Since the fabric is rain resistant, pocket items stand a fair chance of surviving a moderate rain (snow?) event. My preference would be an inside chest pocket, but Columbia's external zippered pocket is quite satisfactory. Last, and maybe most important, this jacket screams quality. Although it is priced lower than much of its competition, it surely stands up with the best of them. It is well-made, well-designed, and well - well, I LIKE it!

This is a nice jacket. Columbia is a well known brand and the jacket does not disappoint. This works nice as a liner for colder weather or something lighter for colder seasons that doesn't involve ice. The material is soft yet very warm and it's surprisingly lightweight. I like using this to layer on during the colder seasons and it works great.

I love these types of jackets because they keep you super warm without being bulky. They are so lightweight and warm! No need for a heavy, bulky coat. Seems well made and can’t go wrong with Columbia. Note that there is no hood on this.

This has been a great jacket in the early fall season here and I've worn it on my nightly walks. The material is super slick, and moisture resistant. It's very lightweight but still does a good job of holding my body heat in. My favorite feature has to be that the lining on the front pockets is very nice and warm, and a different, velour-like feel that is EXCEPTIONALLY warm. I'm very happy with this coat!
