This jacket quickly became my go-to jacket for cooler mornings and windy days as well as rainy days. The hood easily folds into the collar and is secured by a velcro strap to keep it out of the way. It's so versatile that it replaced three different jackets in my closet. There's very little insulation so it won't do well on very cold days but it's great for cooler ones. I like the adjustable hem at the bottom of the jacket to make it fit tight around my waist to keep the wind out. The pockets are well-sized for wallets and phones. Wasn’t sure if I would like this or not but purchased it for an Alaskan cruise we took several months back. Was a last minute purchase and had to get one several sizes larger than what I needed due to my procrastination. However worked out fine since I was wearing a sweatshirt and hoodie underneath it. Never bought this brand before always thought it was overpriced and overhyped but almost a year later and I still have and use it, just wish it was a few sizes smaller. Purchased this to use with taking the dogs out and for traveling Europe. Extremely lightweight, rolls up into a tight little ball/log that I secure with a rubber band for packing. Literally it fits in a shoe when rolled up. I wore this on a 10 day trip to England in Scotland– it rained every single day and I never got wet.     • A good mid-range rain jacket!
I needed a decent rain jacket for an event I was attending where the weather had a high chance of rain. I've never owned anything from Columbia, so thought I'd try them out and am happy I did. This rain jacket IS waterproof. If you have it zipped up properly and the cuffs tightened up, you're not going to get wet from rain. However, you will probably get damp from sweat. This jacket does not breathe as good as I'd like, but with that comes a reduction in water resistance I feel. If you're going to be outside ALL DAY, expect to get damp from sweat. For runs to the mailbox, taking the dog out, etc., this rain jacket will serve you very well. It fit just slightly big on me. I wear a 3X in t-shirts, and bought the 2X size jacket. It's slightly looser than I'd like. I feel like a L would have not been big enough though, and I'd imagine one would want a rain jacket to fit slightly loose anyway. ... show more
