The jacket itself is great and warm. The material is water resistant, but water doest slide down. The down side of this jacket is that the pocket goes into your armpit and the hood is not adjustable like other products from the same brand.

I live in a warm climate, so it's rarely "winter coat" weather. It does get chilly and brisk. This jacket is perfect. If there is a chance of rain, so be it. Oh and it looks great too.

Nice soft shell. The material is soft with a little bit of texture. The fit is slightly large for my Asian frame. The sleeves are particularly too long. However there are hook and loop on the sleeves to lock it down. The slightly over size is ok for a jacket that I need primarily for protection from the environment. Really solid jacket for the price. The hood could be shaped a little better. And the fleece lining could go around the entire inside. But for the price it's pretty great. Second ascender jacket I've had.

I've been watching for a jacket like this for some time. I was glad to find one made by Columbia. I've had other things from them that lasted forever before I finally wore it out. What I like about this is that the zipper is on the correct side, unlike a lot of products these days. There's two decent sized zippered pockets in front for your hands and one up on the chest that's big enough for my large phone to fit. Now for what I'm not sure about... The size guide suggested I order a XXL, but that XXL seems big. It's nice that the I can easily raise my arms and not look like I'm a squirrel trying to take flight or that I'm back in the 80s with a Member's Only branded jacket. I realize the XXL is made so the chest has enough room, but the jacket is a straighter cut so the bottom seems large too. There's a bungee string around the bottom, but I'm not sure I can draw it in enough that it doesn't look funny. If I ordered the XL, I fear I would have to return it for being too small. The jacket is machine washable and has a nice hood so when it rains it stays off my head. It'll be a great jacket for fall when it's moderately cool and wet. ... show more
