The Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder is that girl. She honestly does exactly what I want a pressed powder. First of all, the finish. I want to talk about the moment I looked in the mirror after applying this powder and genuinely did not recognize my own face, not in a bad way, but in a "wait, is that me or someone who has their life together" kind of way. The quality of this pressed powder is legitimately impressive for the price point and that price point is the kind that makes you check the cart twice because surely something is wrong. Nothing is wrong. It's just good value, delivered without fanfare. The compact feels solid, the powder isn't chalky or dusty, and it doesn't launch itself onto your black shirt the second you open it, which is a lower bar than it should be but here we are. The Coconut shade is warm without going full terracotta, and it melts into the skin rather than sitting on top of it doing absolutely nothing, which is the quiet tragedy of bad setting powders everywhere. Applied with a fluffy brush, it gives this soft, natural finish that makes your skin look like skin Coverage is light-to-medium, which means it's not going to single-handedly tackle a full skin situation, but layered over foundation or even alone on a low-effort day, it evens everything out beautifully. Longevity is solid, midday shine is managed, not eliminated entirely, but a light press and you're reset. It's not a miracle. It's a reliable, affordable, genuinely flattering setting powder that shows up every day and does its job without drama.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES I've been a user of the Rimmel Stay Matte powder for a few years now and it worked okay for my oily/sensitive/acne prone skin for the time being. However, it would leave a powdery finish and make my pale skin look chalky and flat and dull. But that was the initial finish after I've applied the powder. After a solid 30 minutes, my face would start to pump oil and I'd end up being horribly shiny. HORRIBLY SHINY. My makeup would separate and slough off and I would look like I dipped my face into a bowl of water. That's how WET my skin looks and that's how OILY it is. Not pleasant. So when Maybelline initially came out with their FIT ME line, I was skeptical. I heard all these claims of how "matte and poreless" an oily skinned sufferer would look if they used the products. I sat back and thought it was a bunch of claims they were throwing out to consumers as a good marketing scheme. And of course, the FIT ME concealer is highly comparable to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (supposedly, as I have not tried the NARS one). I was sucked in and bought the concealer and I didn't like it much so my opinion for the FIT ME line stayed the same: lies and a good marketing scheme. But that was until I was talking to someone who has the same skin issues as I do. Oily, sensitive and acne prone skin! She said she used the MAC pro long wear concealer and the Maybelline FIT ME powder for oily skin. She, like me, cannot wear foundation as it will break her out. She has GORGEOUS and FLAWLESS skin now! Since I'm already using a MAC concealer anyway, I thought I'd cave and try the FIT ME powder when I was at my local Walmart. I didn't have any expectations of it, to be honest. I knew it worked for my friend but I wasn't sure it would work for me. But I didn't care because it was cheaper at Walmart than buying it at my Rexall drugstore so I thought I'd try it. I bought the transparent/translucent shade (because I have an issue with transparent/translucent shades looking too dark on my skin sometimes. How? I have no idea) and gave it a go the next day when I had applied makeup. So let's start with the packaging: It's pretty decent. I like it. It suits it well. It's just a square and in a compact, has a little mirror inside and a circular sponge applicator for touch ups if you want. As for the product itself, I have to say, I am COMPLETELY FOR IT! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I even bought one for me to take on the go in my purse! I apply it with a Real Techniques multitasking brush (because I want to invest in the powder brush and the eyeshadow brush set) and it sets my concealer wonderfully! At first, because it's transparent/translucent, it leaves a small white cast because there is NO COLOUR ADDED TO IT. DO NOT BE ALARMED BY THIS. You can easily dust it off and it's fine. It leaves me matte and poreless BUT I don't look cakey, powdery and flat like how the Rimmel Stay Matte powder leaves me. I feel like my skin looks like skin for the first time in forever when I wear it! I am a convert! I do have to touch up during the day, BUT ONCE! ONLY ONCE! My skin stays phenomenal for the rest of the day! The concealer is a no from me, but the powder I will repurchase forever and ever amen! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Maybelline! Do not discontinue this! I am a huge, huge, HUGE FAN! The good reviews of this are true to their word! I don't understand the bad reviews but everyone has different expectations for products, and everyone's opinion is personal. BUT TRUST ME. If you are looking into purchasing this, give it a try! There are 2 types: one for Normal to Dry skin, and the other for Normal to Oily skin. Purchase for your skin type and get it at Walmart for cheaper if you're a skeptic (like myself) I am telling you, you will be converted! And if not, that's okay too! You'll find something that works well for you at the drugstore! But for oily skinned individuals, THIS IS A MUST TRY! YOU WILL BE FOREVER CHANGED! I love this so much! Bless you Maybelline for saving my oily skin from looking so wet and greasy! IT HAS BOOSTED MY CONFIDENCE AND MY SKIN HAS NEVER LOOKED BETTER DURING THE DAY!

I’ve been using this powder for years now, and it’s one of those products I always come back to. It lasts a long time and is very affordable, which I love. My everyday makeup routine is pretty simple (brows, bronzer, sometimes mascara or lashes, and concealer under my eyes), and I use this powder to set my under-eye area. When freshly applied, it makes SUCH a difference. It smooths out my under-eye creases (which is one of my biggest insecurities) and gives a really nice, soft finish. After about 4–5 hours, I do notice my creases start to show again, so I usually smooth the area out with my finger or do a light touch-up. The good thing is it reapplies really well and doesn’t get cakey or build up weird texture. One thing to note: if you don’t blend it out well or let it sit too long, it can leave a slight white cast, but it’s nothing a little blending (or even a tiny bit of moisture) can fix. I included photos from different dates and time of day and even one with bare skin so you can see how it looks in real life.
