This is a very nice item. Sturdy, and works very well. We use ours with the 90% alcohol, and the fire is so much like a normal wood fireplace without the smoke. The fire burns very cleanly, although there will be some soot on the inside of the stone chamber, which isn't a big deal for us. We aren't able to have a wood, gas or pellet fireplace or stove in our home, so this was a GREAT addition, especially on those cold winter nights. We turn the lights out and get cosy by our Colsen fireplace. One WARNING for buyers... make sure to place some metal or wooded trivets underneath this fireplace, if you're going to use it on a wood surface. We used ours 3 times on a wooden coffee table, and the heat from the button scorched our furniture. We placed three 1/2" bamboo trivets underneath, and now everything is fine, but running it without protection will result in burned wood furniture, as the stone fireplace gets really hot, and the felt padding the manufacturer places on the bottom doesn't offer enough protection. This works really nicely. It’s very heavy and solid. I would say the flame lasts about an hour, and it says not to refill it when it’s hot. I bought blue crystals to go inside it but I would recommend not filling it with anything but the rubbing alcohol, I think it takes away from how big the flame gets and how long it lasts. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Bought rubbing alcohol from CVS filled it as recommended inch from top lit up quickly and placed wood top over flame and went out just as quick
