Its light weight and easy to hold and maneuver around your nail as you file. I just rinse it off under running water to clean it and lay it down on a wash cloth to dry. Other nail files that I've gotten in the past have been the same crystal nail file material the entire length of the file. These have what appears to be a thin plastic coating on the end you hold. I think these may actually be easier to grip. Great quality Czech tempered glass in a nice velvet sleeve. You can never have too many of these.
